Sloth TV
Sweet Petunia is a Three-Fingered Sloth who has a rough start to life. Abandoned by her mother, orphaned Petunia was struggling for survival. A baby this young relies on their mama for life-sustaining nutrition and protection, but Petunia had no one. Petunia was found in the same place where, 15 days earlier, rescuers had seen Petunia’s mother with two babies. We noticed that the mother was not doing well, and decided to bring her in, but we immediately noticed something was different. This mother-of-two only had one baby clinging to her back. Where had the other gone? Our team sprang into action and returned to the area where Petunia’s mother had been living, and lo and behold, baby Petunia was on the ground.

Petunia was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment and to be examined by our dedicated veterinary team. During her initial assessment, they noticed some abnormalities in her lungs on her X-ray. To get to the root of the problem and determine if a congenital problem or genetic condition. Petunia is scheduled for a CT.
