Royal Cam Albatross New Zealand LGL/ LGK are the Royalcam couple for the 2020/21 season. Tiaki hatched on January 24th 2021.

   Precious Tiaki this morning

Royal Cam Albatross ~ Tiaki's Beautiful Wings At Sunrise 💕 Neighbor Chick Displays & Clacks 9.21.21 https://youtu.be/M5nFXtbA14o via LADYHAWK

Tiaki is 240 days old and looks stunning set against the beautiful sunrise today! She does several minutes of wing exercises before lying back down to rest. At 4:25 it looks like Plateau chick is talking to Tiaki and they both do some clacking! Then Plateau goes into several nice displays in front of her. This is part of Plateau's territory that Miss Tiaki has been hanging out in :) I guess Tiaki swapped SSTrig's displays for Plateau's now! Nice to see them both still here at the colony!

Very interesting. Thanks.

Royal Cam Albatross New Zealand South Island

i am happy to hear that OGK & YRK are the new seasons Royal Cam  Couple!!  We had fun watching them in the 2020 season with little one Atawhai. Atawhai was a lot of fun and they are a fun couple. OGK & YRK are Tiaki's grandparents!!

Here is a little history for everybody...[/color]

This season's Royal Cam family OGK and YRK have moved down the hill to Quarry Track since raising Atawhai at Top Flat in 2020. They are in view of the Richdale Observatory.

Egg Laid: 9 November 2021
Female Known as: YRK (yellow/red/black bands)
Age 28 years, hatched 1994
Breeding since: 2006

Male Known as: OGK (orange/green/black bands)
Age: 24 years, hatched 1998
Breeding since: 2006
This pair have been together since 2006.

They have raised a foster chick after the egg they laid was broken during 2018. The first chick they raised is a breeding female and the natal mother of the 2018 Royalcam chick, Amīria. During 2021 their 2012 chick RLK (male) raised a chick known as SSTrig near the Royalcam chick, Tiaki.

Thanks for update to your thread.  Good banding info.
I've been popping in now and then to do some reading.  :)

Royal Albatross New Zealand baby news!

Royal Albatross ~ The Royalcam Chick Hatches! Welcome To The World Little One! 🐣 1.26.22
https://youtu.be/amxGEkIn_5s via ladyhawk
Look who has arrived!! The Royalcam chick has hatched today and was returned to YRK! Welcome to the world little one! 🐣 ♥ Ranger Sharyn brought the wee chick to the nest, removed the dummy egg, sprayed a safe insect repellent around the nest to prevent flystrike and then presented YRK with her new chick! What a beautiful moment when YRK touches it with her bill and greets it! Sharyn smiles at the cam with a look of happiness on her face at the next Royalcam star!
