Iris laid an egg - whose?

Single Mom Iris's first egg by Louis, and it's so beautiful  I'm saying a prayer. I want to cry too, since she has no mate to help her.... bless her

Iris lays another egg.

Hi Shep, as long as Louis keeps coming to mate, Iris will lay eggs.

She spent all yesterday and night on the nest... no food for over 24 hours.
She left for a few minutes and 2nd egg was taken and broken by raven.

Here she is after her return. I'd rather not post pics of raven.



And of course, Louis returned to mate this morning.

Hellgate FB chatters said, she had an owl bother her last night.

Iris was train watching last night.

Egg#3 was laid and taken todaiy  :'(.  My heart is hurting for Iris  :'( :'( :'(

Sweet Iris had #3 egg today and it was stolen by a raven... Good night sweet girl, see you in the morning.

FB chatters says Louis doesn't return after that attack. Also, This is the same male intruder that has been trying to land on the nest. Iris has refused him.
Now, everyone is thinking it's Finn!!! 

Male intruder attacks Louis and throws him off the nest! 


New Male flying over Iris, he's determined to have this nest and Iris. Bring her fish!!!

6 am  Suitor Romeo lands in nest.
Iris yells.  He remains.

6.15 am  Romeo stands quietly with his back to her, periodicly looking toward her.

6.17  Romeo flies away .. Iris calls.  why?  fish call?  LOL!!!

6.54 am  MATING ATTEMPT - rejected.
male leaves.

7.07  another mating attempt.  rejected.
Male remains in nest.

7.25  He walks over next to her - and stands quietly.

8.23  MATING ATTEMPT #3 - rejected - yelling - Romeo flies off.

8.53   MATING ATTEMPT #4 - rejected - Romeo flies off.

9.18  MATING ATTEMPT #5 - rejected

10.22   MATING ATTEMPT #6 - rejected
Romeo stayed in nest, didnt leave.

HE ISNT DOIN IT RIGHT!
He'll learn how he needs to land to mate.

Iris always remains, so is she only awaiting a fish and she'll accept him?

I hope Iris rejects Louis and accepts male 2
But after laying 3 eggs, maybe Iris is done.

Romeo wants a Juliet - but he is a gentleman and patient.

Iris has laid 5 eggs in a season. Talons crossed she lays at least one more.

New Guy keeps eye on nest while Iris eating her fish. 


Iris returns to nest after eating her fish on the owl pole. She continues to yak in his ears! LOL!
