Yes, we're grateful for every day the camera is turned on. Even better when the peregrines are in view.

This morning, the camera seems to be "live" and capturing great views of Zooey and Newman in their favorite places.

Yesterday when I tuned in, it was playing highlights. Maybe it was camera maintenance day.

Shep/Nora, I read yesterday, that when Ida was passing over Louisiana, the mouth of the Mississippi River was flowing in the opposite direction.  I often think of Chance.  I knew I would miss her.

Lori, thanks for the retrospective of Chance and the GSB season.  What a beautiful bird.

It is typical for juveniles to be bigger than adult female peregrine?  And the females are bigger than the males, true?

Couple from this morning. Newman still here.

Tuesday morning, two peregrines in view at the same time -- one at the nest box and one on the ledge below with a prey bird.
I think it's Newman at the box and Zooey on the ledge.  Anyhow, both unbanded adults.  If it's Zooey, she is less rusty-reddish on face and breast than a month ago.

Do peregrines lose their defensiveness about territory before they migrate in the fall? If so, these could be other falcons than the regular pair.

This morning, Zooey posed for closeup pic, then went soaring (no pics), then landed on one of the dead branches.

Cam ops got some great closeups of yellow flowers with various bugs enjoying the nectar and pollen.  Not sure of the yellow bloom name, nor the name of the wasp or hornet.

Newman on the camera housing, early today.

Yesterday a big insect. Today a big slug!  Thanks cam ops.

Shep, you should go on the Beak site and watch the video that Lisa posted this morning.  It is not a barge but it is still pretty impressive. :) A huge crane ship passing under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
