What's the status of the GSB cams? Will they stay turned on, or go on hiatus like Decorah and the Norths?

I think they stay ON as long as the falcons are around.
The falcons fly south in the fall - around Oct 1

Those foggy clouds keep rolling in in the morning. Spectacular color today.

Two peregrines were hanging out on the ledge near the nest box just after sunrise today. I'm guessing Newman and Zooey. They seemed to be sharing food of some kind and were very companionable. No leg bands in view. Can the other watchers confirm?

About 9:00 AM, one perched at the nest box for a beautiful closeup. Again, no leg bands. Is this Zooey with the rusty breast feathers?

Shep, robin-red-breast, indeed! So if the pic from the nest box is Zooey, it's possible that the one at the Flyway this afternoon is her, too. That bird has the same rusty breast.  Interesting.  I wonder how much feather color is affected by what they eat.

Couple pics from the Flyway included here.  Rewind Flyway video to about 1:00 for the peregrine show.

Hoping the camera operator reads this and turns up the volume (or turn ON the sound) on the cliff cam.  Don't think a storm caused a problem, but not sure.
Use the talents you possess: for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best.

Newman sitting on a favorite perch near the nest box this morning. Thanks to cam ops for many close up views.

I am happy to see barges going up n down the river.  Good for our economy.

Looks like Newman and Zooey are still at GSB.  Is it mid-September when they typically head south for the winter?

Shep, so true, barge traffic is a great indicator of economic activity.
