Low water levels in the Mississippi River create issues for commercial boating

GSB Falcons home of Newman, Zooey & little one
A couple pics from yesterday... cuteness galore!

Little one watching Zooey's every move & learning so much!

Zooey cute strrrreeeetch

"See Ma I can move my wings too! "copying Mom Zooey the best she can" ;)

Zoom in to little one's favorite spot in the nest box, you can see how high it is there!

"little one closely watching Mom Zooey fly by and landed in nest box seconds after..."

Agree with Lisa.  How beautiful Zooey, Newman and Chance are.  The scenes of the Mississippi River from the cams are breathtaking.  If I remember correctly, there is no place to pull off the road to the observe the nest box.  I plan to drive the highway when I visit Decorah in July.

There have been at least 2 people who have pulled off onto the shoulder to wave at the camera

The shoulder of highway 61 is a good one, but no actual pull-off spot.  Ooops to me I thought it was still 61.  Guess north of Winona it is, down there it's 14.  Go for it.

Thank you for the information Nora.  If you are going to the ATF maybe you could pin point the spot on a map.  I do not do Facebook but enjoy reading the comments and looking at the pictures.  I had to laugh at one of the comments.  Last night I accidentally left my computer sound on high.  I checked the cam this morning to the sound of Zooey on high volume.  Talk about raising the dead. :) :) :)

Hwy 61 revisited.  :) ;) Might be Hwy 14, but most of us think of it as Interstate 90 where pulling over on the shoulder to take pictures and hope to get a selfie on the falcon cam might be a ticketable offense! :( ::)

90 runs east and west.  What always was 61 and now is called 14 goes north and south along the Mississippi River.  Cooking supper, but will get something on here after while for you.  :)

OK I'll see what I can do.  I see 14, 61, and 90 all are the same road in that stretch.  :o

I put "Great Spirit Bluff in Google earth".  On the left side were what I thought were pictures, but they were 2 second videos.  There is a green LaCrescent sign then a blue sign.

She sure is looking good!!!  Just watching the world go by and the rain drip off the roof.  I'm not sure about up there, but we got 4.27 inches last night and today!

Thank you Nora for the map.  It does help.  It looks a little dangerous to pull off the road and I don't want to upset the police.  I would like to make the drive while I am there and the map will be a great help.  To see the bluffs and the river would be worth a trip.

I haven't been to it, but if you take the bridge going to LaCrosse from LaCrescent when you get part way over before the main channel there is Pettibone Park on Barron Island.  "Pettibone Park is a public park on Barron Island in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The park is located across the Mississippi River from the city's downtown riverfront. Its facilities include walking trails, fishing docks, a beach, and a disc golf course."  I've been wanting to go for a long time, but seems whenever we get up there we're headed to Gundersen for an appointment for my other half and look at the entrance and say "one of these days".  There are some pictures at the link.
