The West End Nest is located on Santa Catalina Island, Ca
A-61 Akecheta took over the territory in the fall of 2019 at the age of 4 1/2, replacing a 19 y.o. resident male K-01 Superman, who has been breeding at the West End since 2006
K-91 Thunder took over the territory in the fall of 2013 at the age of 4 1/2, replacing a 27 y.o. resident female Wray, who has been breeding at the West End since 1991.
Thunder laid two clutches in 2020. Being young and inexperienced, Akecheta did not incubate consistently, and both clutches were lost to ravens.
