SE23 is on the left standing up with a full crop and SE24 is laying down. The cam zooms on 23 first with some extreme closeups and then on 24. What beauties! SE23 is 11 weeks old and 24 will be 11 weeks old tomorrow!

Sun came up at 6:15 am Australia time today which is 215pm CST.  It's light out now... waiting for SE24 to come home. Camera is scanning. Now SE23 is being bothered by Magpie too. No news yet on SE24.

Sydney Sea Eagles SE24 All is well... this is just a re-cap & video of SE24's adventures!!! Rangers checked on her last night and she is camoflauged and doing fine! ❤️

SE24 had fledged and returned to the nest when a magpie knocked him off the perch branch and he went to the ground. As the cam panned for him we see 24 and a fox circling him on the ground. 24 was very brave trying to defend himself and even wing slapping the fox. The fox at one point can be seen grabbing 24's wing! Help was on the way and they scared off the fox - 24 flew low and away being seen about 40 meters from the nest and 3 meters off the ground on a branch where he spent the night. It appears that 24 was not injured!

Update 10.14.19 - SE24 spend the night on the branch and part of the morning. Cathy went out to check on 24 and still found him in the bush 40 meters from the nest tree. Since this afternoon, 24 has moved and flown off. Hopefully he will hear 23 honking & will be able to fly back to the nest. Thank you Cathy, Rohan and the entire SeaEagleCam team!

Via Facebook...15th October, 2019 - Thank you to Cathy Cook for heading into the reserve yesterday (with SOPA ranger and ecologist) to keep an eye on SE24.There is a bird survey on today, no sign of SE24, so far. Judy is going to have a look for him. More later.

Flying Foxes (Pteropus poliocephalus) is the largest megabat native to Australia. I counted four flying foxes but there might have been more! At 9:05 Boo comes calling & knocks into Lady. And a minute later does a flyby which causes her to honk.

SE23 Fledges, both are OK.

16th October, 2019 12:56pm SE23 fledged to escape the magpie and currawong swooping. One of the rangers will go in and check if ok.
UPDATE 3pm - No sign of SE23 or SE24 on the ground or in the immediate vicinity of the nest.
UPDATE - 6pm - SE23 seen flying around - opposite side of reserve to SE24

SE23 has been getting harassed by magpies all day.  Here s/he has finally had enough, and does a very purposeful fledge off the nest.  Fly well SE23!

❤️❤️❤️Sydney Sea Eagles...both have fledged.   There is a chance they won't return to nest and are starting their new adventures.  Parents have been very good in the past about taking care of them after fledge for time needed.  Good luck lil ones an fly free!

WBSE juveniles have amazing camouflage. Accompanying Judy on a mission to find "2 needles in a huge haystack" this morning was challenging, and we were very lucky to find one of our fledglings. Hidden in branches, SE23 was almost impossible to see, which gives him good cover from the pesky swoopers in the forest. It was great to see that he was safe and well up off the ground

:'( Rest in Peace SE23... fly high lil Angel. 
Via Facebook. 5th November, 2019 - Some really sad news for everyone today.
One of our juvies, likely SE23, has been found dead by bird survey people, in the reserve (on the old disused railway track).
Judy has taken the body to Taronga for necropsy. She will post more information later today.
SE24 has been seen today with parents at the river.
