SE15 was developmentally impaired by the foot and beak disease, allowing the younger sib to quickly become stronger and dominant.  But 16 didn't prevent 15 from surviving to fledging age when he/she could probably easily have done so.  I don't think WBSE's are any more likely to exhibit siblicide than BE's are.  This year, too, I'm wondering if 22 has other health problems besides not getting enough food.  He's always seemed kind of weak and unable to remain sitting or jostle for position with 21 without falling down.  He goes face down a lot without any help from 21.

Well - I think it's the dominance of Maxi. At about 07:15 Mini finds the confidence to raise its head and take a bite, takes it and - bonked. Same occured even when Maxi had just refused a bite, which then Mini took. It shields itself with this evasive don't-be-seen position. (And it leads to Beta's fewer bites taken while the Alpha is eating, which is the whole point of pecking orders.) Lady though carries on with the feeding even when Maxi is full and turns away. Then it's Mini's turn.

Now Maxi's p**p on the breakfish. Ugh. (That's a discipline the Decorahs are more precise at...)

Mini just agreed with me that Maxi so far overdid bonking. So now came the time for Maxi to get a good unexpected thrashing.

Stuffing yourself with all that fish makes ya sleepy ya know... Then you turn your back? Hm... Big eyes.

I don't endorse this, of course. Yet trust the eaglet shall I...  ;D

The WBSEs seem less vocal than "our" BEs, but at 6:19 this morning they made one heck of a noise, a whole minute. Dad took the lead, while Lady waiting a bit until joining in, answering. Phew.

So cute 348pm cst 8-1-18.JPG
They get nice proportions now. And despite all those tiny-bit-of-a-half-of-nothing-morcels they've grown quite visibly.

Right after getting up, Mom got briefly entangled one foot in her own nest - a less slippery section of it, that is.

Don't stand on a fish or slip from the tree. So simple. (15:16).
