Hi Mp. Thank you for your s'caps. I just now tuned into the livecam to watch for a bit. No parent in the nest right at this moment. SE16 is sitting up tall often but SE15 not so much. I watched for about 15 minutes just now and two times SE15 got up or stretched body up and both times SE16 bonked hard and SE15 was down again. I can't watch anymore until I get word that SE15 seems to be thriving. But right now, I can't say that I see SE15 thriving - but sweet SE15 is trying hard to survive. I know it's nature, but it's hard to watch sometimes. I know they are both getting fed often, and I know that bonking usually slows down as the chicks get older, and I hope SE15 makes it that long. I don't think the bonking is causing what I perceive to be SE15's problems, but it must be using up some of SE15's energy. SE15 appears to be significantly smaller than SE16, and there has to be some reason for that. This is my own personal guess of an opinion and not anything I have read or have scientific proof of, but I get the feeling SE15 hatched with some issue(s ), or developed some issue shortly after hatching - which I hope SE15 can overcome. I do not usually get too caught up with minor issues with nestlings or with normal bonking, but I can't help but have a real concern for SE15 at this point. MpMom, I am pulling for both of these seaglets to grow and thrive. Talons crossed. This seems to be such a devoted and caring Mum and Dad, and I really want them to have succes with both seaglets this year.
