" It appears that the Sauces nest failed today. The egg likely broke midday, based upon the adults' behavior. Because a healthy, full-term chick would fill an egg, making it hard to break, it is likely that the egg was either infertile or the chick died early in development and the recent heat may have caused the rotting egg to explode. Although there is time for another clutch, we have not seen a pair lay another clutch of eggs after incubating more than a couple of weeks. Hopefully they will have better luck next year. "

Last night A48 and A40 were at the nest.  A40 brought in some fluff and they both moved some sticks around a bit.  I not getting my hopes up.  They did that and a whole lot more last year for over a month  after the second clutch failed.  He was bringing her fish every day to the nest and the sticks just kept coming and the mating continued for the first couple of weeks.  But nothing ever came of it.  I will keep an eye on things here though because you just never know.

From IWS, Eagle Duo's video of dinner fish gift for A 48.  He brought her one this morning too.  What a guy!

These two continue with daily nestorations and A40 continues to bring fish gifts to A48, sometimes as many as 3 in a day.  This morning they did nestorations a bit, A40 brought in a fish and they mated on the nest.  Passionately true to their mission I would say.  Still, not unlike last year after failed 2nd clutch.  All that dedication went nowhere.

Everyday and sometimes twice a day A40 brings A48 a fish.  Everyday they continue their nestorations.  I can't even imagine how huge that nest is by now.  Every now and then they get amorous.  They did this all last year after the second clutch failed and I know not the expect this will come to anything and still I hope it will.
