The mods are telling everyone an egg may still hatch.
It wont.  This is her 2nd year only one hatch.

Several YEARS ago a chick half hatched.  It peeped and Di fed it but it didnt survive.  I mentioned that on their blog and their mod called me a liar.  But I remember it

Cilla has a couple nasty mods

I saw the shell - I dunno if one of the 2 eggs broke or if that shell is old - from the chick.
That chick is VERY ACTIVE and Di doesnt wanna let it loose.
She tried to control Izzy last year too

CSU Falcon Cam Project, Orange, New South Wales Australia home of Diamond & Xavier and little one...
It's time to for a name for this little one!!!
Gif below of Mom Diamond and little one

Get your vote in by tonight!!! They are one day ahead...[/b]You can only vote once.  Note that multiple votes will be deleted.   All names are in the Wiradjuri (local indigenous) language and relate to weather terms: cloud etc.
Here is the link: https://forms.gle/iPQhxDCLtEh19jp38

The eggs were laid on 31st August, 2nd and 5th September.  ThIs chick hatched on 8th October.   it seems that we will only have one chick this year as the other eggs are not going to hatch now.   Even Diamond has given up.  The chick took its first 'walk' today. The average time from hatch to fledge (first flight) is 42 days, so about 19th November.  Males often fledge earlier than females.  We don't know yet the sex of this chick.

**Good news update on Diamond's foot injury**
CSU Orange, New South Wales, Australia Falcon Cam. Home of Diamond, Xavier and newly named chick Yurruga "sunny"

You can see here Yurruga tugs on Diamond's injured foot (she may sense a problem) and Diamond has trouble walking & feeding. Nov 3rd

You can see here today Diamond is walking much better...

NEWS  5th November
Diamond appears to have mostly recovered from her injuries. Last night she slept well on the rocks and descended at  4:49:15 with just a slight limp.  She was absent for nearly 10 hours five days ago, probably a hunting accident.  Prey arrival has been reduced due to rain, but is adequate.

The chick (now called 'Yurruga', which is Wiradjuri for 'sunny') is now 28 days old; growing really well and sprouting new black feathers;  starting to self feed.   He or she is almost as tall as Xavier.  If it overtakes Xavier in height, we'll know it's a female.

ThIs chick hatched on 8th October.   it seems that we will only have one chick this year as the other eggs are not going to hatch now.   Even Diamond has more-or-less given up.  We think that one egg may be been unfertlised and the other held a chick, but it was too weak (or the shell too thick) for the chick to exit.  If they are still there after fledging, I shall have a look at them and offer them to the Australian Museum.
The average time from hatch to fledge (first flight) is 42 days, so could be about 19th November.  Males often fledge earlier than females.

Diamond is getting old, I suspect that could be why only one egg hatched last year and this year.  Just a guess.  I also suspect she has rheumatism / arthritis

Glad Yuri is doing well.
