Orange New South Wales Australia Falcon cam home of Diamond & Xavier

Congratulations Diamond & Xavier egg #3!!!  I got to see it live today, she was looking puffy so it looked like it might be time. ;)

Xavier brings breakfast right after and Diamond refuses to leave the nest box... she is a tired girl, but hungry!!! :)

It's a 21 second gif and it's still processing so it might be spotty right now... ;)

Diamond usually lays 3 eggs... I was thinking the first egg was on August 28 for some reason... so that's good they will be closer in age.   Here's to a great season Miss Diamond ;)
3 would be amazing!  Crazy.  I can't imagine 3 Izzy's at one time...  :o demanding and cute. :)

Holly Parsons
A table of nest history data! Thanks to Dr. Cilla Kinross.
Here's an old table of the nesting history in Orange.
Diamond has always laid only three eggs, so most likely she is done laying now.
Since Xavier has become Diamond's mate, only two of the three eggs have hatched.
To complete the missing data in the table: in 2019, two chicks fledged.
In 2020, three eggs were laid, two hatched, and one chick lived to fledging (Izzi).
bcaw....

Diamond is old
I remember they said the Cathedral falcon in Pa was 17 before she vanished
I wonder if age affects success of eggs, fledge

Shep, my apologies, my calendar has gremlins.  ::) :P  This is the third time it moved things around or erased them entirely only to put them back later.  ugh!
pip watch would start around October 2nd, but hopefully with delayed incubation October 5th.  Celia stated October 5th on youtube.
