LISA   I'm not familiar with the programmable crocks so maybe the rubber seal has to be a feature of them?

TIG  Your memory book - Quite a project.  You saved e-mails??

CLYNN  therapeutic cuddling   :o :o something for everyone  ;)  Finally a definition for WERK  LOLOL      Cool Xmas tree recycling idea - Didn't know they could do that  :o        Decorah north  LOLOL     Swivel feature is a good idea.

tig - Ahh, maybe so!!  I just wish it didn't have that burnt rubber smell.  Peeeuuuuu!

clynn - I had to laugh to myself when I went to Walmart, and was with the vision lady.  I told her what happened to the glasses, and that I put the lens back in myself and that I was there for her to check and see if everything was ok.  She took the glasses from me, turned them over in her hands a few time and says, looks good to me.   ::)  I was kinda hoping she would tighten up the fishing line.  Cool idea on the Christmas trees, and love that pic from the Norths!

Peep - Jeff drinks the Hunger Smart Glucerna, and it comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and peaches and cream.

tsk - I bet what tig said, is correct about the crockpot.

Have a good night everyone.

clynn - I do have 2 mowers...I just put the front yard one in Scott's shop during winter so it's out of my way to put the snow blower in it's place in the garage. The door is in my last pic. The one I use in the back is in the shed at the bottom of the hill.

Can you imagine me hauling the front yard mower to the back every time I mowed?....and then back again if I need to have help to move it out of my way for winter?

I guess I don't understand your question. Hope above answered it.

Below is my shed, not the shop, where the mower for the backyard stays.

Again, I live on a very steep hill. I can and love to mow btw...I only hire someone for the back because of how steep it is.

On the way home we stopped into Publix on Concord Rd, Brentwood and Jimmy got his Pfizer booster w/ Old man's flu and I got my Moderna booster and flu. Finally that out of the way. Still so many 'little' around the home things to do.  :(

Hope I read today's posts correctly...
Puff thks for the added sugar info.  ;)  I'll have to do a banana experiment w/ Maggie.
Clynn upgrading one's life takes alot of time. I hope you, you sisters and mom and anunts have a wonderful time together. What fun. Nice 4 sesons of maple tree. Lovely photo of The Norths.
Eagles glad you got some rain. My bro Dan lives near SF that entire areahas been in drought mode---just the last few days of cyclone activity brought him 5.44" of rain between Sunday morning and Monday morning.
Lisa that was a fright w/ the Sprite, too bad about your glasses ; that's a new one crockpot and rubber gasket; Bandit LOL
Jaspurr how'd the HAVC installation go whith the storm?
Kb hope you get help w/ your project on those steps. Adorable baby possum.
Tig keep us posted
Lani hope your weekend w/ Mike home and Aly/Dewey will be lots of fun. Hopefully the fire/fireplace will discourage the mice and with Milo there that should stop the 'break-ins'

Tsk you asked about jim's heart monitor report--- doc said she'd never seen such a lengthy report and plopped down a 40 page bound book. She added, 'You have a lot of  'ectopy'  going on in your heart."  Looks like all the electrical nodes are fireing off one after another incl. the tachycardia and Afib and..."  she listed other things that I just don't recall.  A ultra sound of the heart is in order as is another ablasion of ? forgot , it'll come to me later after I'm in bed no doubt.   She said likely back on ameoterone for a bit or one of the other  fout anti-Arrhythmia drugs.  There was so much that I ought to have taken notes  ::)  Jim says he generlly feels well and no dizziness or unusual tiredness. We were very concerned . And, I guess it could still be a turn. Dunno right now.  Will wait for her call after consultation with another cardiologist about  monitor report.

Clever idea on the christmastree.  I have purchased a few live trees and planted them in the yard but never reused them in the house!

Lisa... I've never had that rubber smell. Hmmm... then again, I've only used the pot about 10 times??? And I am completely anal retentive when it comes to keeping it clean, and I use a plastic liner when cooking. So... only steam touches the lid, never food. LOL. IDK.

I like this for low carb, high protein. And I like the taste... https://www.atkins.com/products/atkins-shakes/atkins-plus-protein-fiber-shakes/atkins-plus-vanilla

I remember our freshly cut (Dec 23) Christmas tree from a couple of years ago... that started new green growth at the tips in March!!

Pain pill is kicking in. ZZZZ

I’m hitting the bed soon. After I get Zippo tucked in in her night nest. She’s up late, but she’s sleeping next to me in the living room right now, so she’s getting some shuteye.  ;)

I didn’t have any problems from my Moderna booster. Had the slightest tenderness right at the injection site, and that’s all. So little of that that I have to rub the injection spot to feel it. My arm doesn’t feel sore or tender otherwise. No other symptoms.

I voted early today in my town’s municipal election. No line. Short ballot… this election is only for Mayor and 3 openings on the Town Council.

On the down side, I had to call the bank today because I got a fraudulent international charge on my credit card today. Ugh. Wish I knew where my card number was stolen from. That’s the first time I’ve had any fraud with any of my financial accts. Gives me the willys. It was an international transaction with a company in Estonia that’s a ridesharing company!

I’ve had 2 more major beverage spills. Grrr.  And have found more tiny bits of broken glass every day, now in every room of my house except my bedroom, and on the threshhold of my front door, on the outside side of the door - from the wine bottle that fell out the bottom of the grocery bag and exploded on my kitchen floor several days ago.

I canceled my trip to Atlanta for a visit with a close friend because she has planned a Friendsgiving at her house with ten women friends who live alone. Ordinarily, that would be fun, but I’m not ready to be indoors in close contact with ten people all from different scenarios. Ho hum.

I’m on my ipad. My PC is going to send me to the looney bin. I need to go. Typing this much on my ipad isn’t great for my mental health either.

G’night Beakers. Stay safe. Peace.

LisaG - I know you will like the base marinade! It really does work for Steak, Chicken & Pork! As I mentioned, you add your own spices to the marinating meat!  LisaG, that is what I have recommended to my Mom. I've said to use a little sugar. Sugar is much healthier {a little bit) than any artificial sweetener.  This is just my opinion for myself and my mom! :)
Tsk - Yes! Ca is having hopes this rain sets the tone for a fire-safe winter with this rain.  Hope we keep getting it periodically!
Lori - Oh no, so sorry your tooth area is aching.  Sounds like the dental appt can't come soon enough!  You need help right now.
Phyl - That pic you posted this morning would be scary in the house during the middle of night. :-[
Puff - The info you gave this morning on anosmia sounds like good info. Thank you!
Clynn - Bless you & your sisters for all coming together for your Mother's birthday.  How special that will be for her!  wow, you had almost 3 inches of rain last Sunday.  Our weather person said our rain was 1.50"  No more is expected this week.  So sad. Wish we were getting another 1 or 2 inches tomorrow!   Clynn, like the seasons of a Maple tree.
LisaG - Oh no - that would be scary, to have a soda can blow up in the fridge!  Hope you got your lense fixed today!  Gosh, seems like you guys are always having to deal with stuff!  Did pepe ever go away?  You & Jeff need a vacation! :)
Kb - Yeah, sounds like its time to put things away for winter!
Peep - I can understand how you couldn't find your lens in the ice! It would have been a miracle to find. ;)
Tig - Thats a good idea.  I hope it works for you (leaves)!
Lani - Nice to hear that Shannon's Charlie is doing ok!
Karen - Yes, the snow is great news, and now they say the water falls are flowing again in Yosemite!! Yaay!  Kris still has pain. There are times he is feeling ok, and other times, he is just reeling in pain holding his head.  Says its like he has no skin on his head and just nerve endings up there shooting stabs of pain (he sometimes uses other choice language)! Thank you for asking. :)
Peep - What a sweet special story of the sparrow!! Thank you!
Tig - Congrats on the completion of your first memory book!
Phyl - Hope you & Jim are feeling ok after your shots!
Baz - Happy that Zippo is doing well!
Blschue - Special thoughts & prayers for you & Bill. :-*

Jaspurr, Did you see how much flying Tiaki got in today!  :o She is 613 miles away from Chile! I love her zig zaggy route she's taking.

Clynn, So, that is what "werk" means  ???  Milo loves the fireplace because the mice are still making noises somewhere in it.  So, he keeps one eye on it all the time.  ;D ,,, sweet pic of the Norths.

Lisa, Sadie is the same way. She never forgets what causes a sudden noise or action. And holds it against you for life.... The Vision lady could have tightened the screw just to confirm. LOL!

Tsk, yes, she works for an agency and she still works as supervisor/pit boss for Talking Stick Casinos.

Peep, Twilight in Maine is beautiful.

Phyl, love your good night pic.  ;D

Baz, That is terrible about the fraudulent international charge. Did you have to close the charge card?  :(   We had someone get our debit card number three years ago, and use it for a visit to DC via Amtrak and a night's stay.... SED Baz and Zippo  :)

SED Eagles, Karen,  :-*

Good night!

Good morning everyone,

I have so much catching up to do.
LANI,  Tiaki has finally called home.  What an experience following her adventures.  When she reaches SA  I hope she lands on a beautiful cliff and takes a well deserved rest.  This is an interesting article that talks about how Albatross use dynamic soaring to conserve energy and fly long distances without stopping.  https://biogeoplanet.com/albatross-flight-dynamic-soaring/
PHYL, I have undergone every procedure the doctor discussed for Jim.  I also have afib.  They did a cardioversion where they stop the heart and restart it to see if it will go back into a normal rhythm.  When that didn't work they did an ablation procedure.  I am guessing that is what the DR is discussing with you and Jim.  After the ablation my heart went into normal rhythm for about two years but then reverted back to an abnormal rhythm.  He considered doing a second but I opted not to.  They tried different drugs but they I always felt like I was in a fog.  When covid started I chose to stop all my meds.  Now I am med free and have adjusted my lifestyle to just live with the afib.  Take frequent breaks from physical activity and try to stay away from stressful situations. I hope the ablation works for Jim.
LISA, I bet that soda explosion made a mess in your refrigerator.  I got worried when you talked about propane tanks.  Is it very windy on your side of the bridge?  That feeder band that passed over me 24 hours ago produced some very loud thunder.  Literally, shoot the house and windows.  Didn't last long.

The guys who installed my new furnace were great.  Two guys were here for 7 hours.  One of the guys was telling jokes the whole time and there was a lot of laughter in the house.  I am sure my neighbor thought we were having a party.  The only thing that concerns me is that they installed a fancy wifi thermostat.  I was too tired to fiddle with it last night so will try it out this morning.  I told him that all I needed was a cold/hot and off/on switch.  I will never use the wifi.  It is also a little difficult to read without my glasses.  Will have to devote one of my 12 reading glasses to the thermostat only.

BAZ, someone got my credit card number and was using it to travel around England and Wales.  Never did find out how they got the number but Navy Federal put an alert on my new card so that it would freeze if an unusual purchase was made.  Check my account everyday.  It is scary how easy it is for someone to get your number.

Will catch up with the rest of the posts after my coffee.

     Morning folks!!
