Wouldn't it be neat to wallpaper a small room, like the half-bath under the stairs, or one wall, with these colorful sunrises and sunsets along with a few eagle pics?  I'm sure not creative enough to make it happen, but maybe one of our forum pals or the artistic ones who donate works to ATF for the auction ??

Bright yellow sunrise today.  On the rewind, I think it's MrN with some kind of non-fish prey for brunch on a branch. Enough closeups of eyes to be MrN.  I also think the branch is below the nest, perhaps on the south side (to the right as we look at the nest).

Late afternoon at the North valley.  A sub-adult picking at something on the creek bank.  Just before, cam ops found a hawk perched in one of the creek trees.  Then, MrN and DNF spent a while chatting from high in the pine trees to the south of the nest.  There's a short while with purple-red viney branches draped across the picture, like Christmas decorations.  Awesome thanks to the camera operators!

My packages are all wrapped and it's too late to send cards for Christmas, so a good time to watch the eagles, and what a morning!

Looks like MrN and DNF spent the night on that pine tree branch. DNF brought a stick to the nest about 9AM on the rewind, and MrN followed her (pic). They did some nest work and I was having a fun time creating humorous captions for their actions ( two pics ). The story continues and gets better . . .

The Norths move to the Ladder Branch for more preparations ( 3 pics). They flew off to the pine tree again to watch the cows arrive. When, guess what? An early guest came to the party! (see next)

Who is this visitor?  Looks like a female (really large), not DNF (the head feathers are not right), so a sub-adult maybe 4 years old. She made herself at home for about 30 minutes around noon.  No one came to chase her away (remember, it's a Christmas Eve party) but she finally flew off to seek refreshments and genial company. The fog has rolled in and the party will continue.

Thanks for all the pics, STL.  That was DNF on the pine branch all night but it wasn't Mr. N.  If you were watching earlier, the eagle on the left tried to cozy up to DNF and she wasn't having it.  This morning's nest visitor was a BIG girl I would say!
