I hate the shutdown seems so early this year, but I sure don't want to complain. Thankful for every minute that  I could have an inside view of our National symbol and treasure. Can not thank the camera operators and monitors enough for all the time they put in to bring us closer to the lives of our eagles. Already looking forward to those first views of new grass and corn husks in the nests.

One of the parents was in a creek tree at daybreak. Have not seen DN14 so far today.
Some little birds visited the nest, but I did not get a pic.
Crows in the pasture (see pic), and a great blue heron at about the same time (no pic).

Last night, the Field of Dreams baseball game was amazing! It was played where the movie, Field of Dreams, was made. An it's not so far from Decorah, south and a bit east, close-ish to Dubuque.  Nice to see more of the great state of Iowa. And Kevin Costner was there   ;D

Great pics this morning, STL!

Saw some great pics on FB from the game last night.

I understand that RRP anticipates the cam work this year will take longer and that's why they're shutting down the livestream earlier than usual.

Yesterday evening DNF was perched for awhile on the Brush Pile Tree (BPT) when a subadult flew in and perched above her.  She vocalized at it when it arrived and a couple of later times when it moved around a bit.  After awhile DNF flew off to roost in the Scary Tree for the night.  The subadult eventually flew off from BPT.

Beautiful DNF (before the sub arrived)

DN14 went soaring yesterday afternoon.  It's the last time we saw her on cam.  Here's the video from eaglespirit:

Ginger, wonderful pics!

The sub looks like the one that was there a couple days ago, so pretty.

Thanks for the video of DN14 soaring.  I hope 14 has some awesome adventures, and stops by for a visit!  ;)

I agree, Lisa.  That sub looks like the one 14 chased off recently.

Ginger thanks specially for the info and pics of DNF in the BPT and with the juvenile visitor.   That she accepted the visitor must mean that the season is really over.  What a privilege to watch this successful  raising, fledging, and dispersing.  So proud of MrN and DNF!

Lisa, Thanks!  It's hard to decide which pics to show. What a grand year.

Little birds around the nest this morning early. One house sparrow and one I'm not sure of -- maybe a phoebe.  Jaspurr, what do you think?

A juvenile was in a creek tree for a short time around 10:00. It flew up the creek to another tree. No attempt to come to the nest, so I believe it 's the juvie we have seen recently.

It's been a joy watching the North family this season, and I miss DN13 and DN14 already. Safe travels, young ones! It's such an interesting nest site and the cam operators have outdone themselves. I appreciate all who've shared their pics, videos, comments, and expertise - you added to the the joy of perching here!  Many thanks RRP!
