The DNs have been exploring the lower edges of the nest this morning, in between fish drops and all that related action. They have found some nestovers, if not live prey.

Pretty good pic of a three-bird fly-in, typical of chasing behavior that has DNF and MrN quickly dropping prey and getting out of the way.

If those geese stick around or have goslings, they might be on the menu soon!

Amazing, fantastic pics from everyone!!  Love that 3 flying in shot STL!  Our cam ops are truly the best.

I just posted pics from the ATF on the Decorah Eagle thread if anyone wants to check them out.   :)

Love the food fight pics this morning!  Reminds me of World-wide Wrestling on TV, and worth a watch on the rewind.

One of the parents was looking intently at something from a creek tree, not long ago. Suspect it was the gaggle of geese.

STL, thank you for the rewind suggestion on today's rumble.  Dad had a terrified look on his face when D13 came flying in.  D13 received a penalty for foul language.  D13 found the weakness in D14 mantling strategy but D14 won the match with a perfect half nelson.  The agony of defeat.  :) :) Hilarious footage.  Thank you tig for the pictures.  Enough with the geese.

Lunch was delivered earlier this afternoon, and the fly-in from the parent with prey was beautiful.  DN14 claimed it, but in the end, DN13 flew off with the prey. Cam ops spotted DN13 eating the prey on a branch.

Lisa posted the best of the prey adventures from earlier today. The DNs do something new every day it seems, all good for survival. Flying off with the carcass is such a big deal for DN13.

Since eating on the raccoon carcass on the branch, DN13 dropped it. Then found it on the ground. DN14 came to share the feast (if you can call mostly fur a feast). They were still on the ground at posting time of 5:00PM.
