rosieann's video and Lisa's pics of Mom at N1 have me nostalgic for my favorite nest (even if I haven't really "seen" N3). Thank you so much.
Will there be streaming video at any time from After The Fledge? I'm hoping for any videos or pics.

An update from David and Ann Lynch!

✰✰✰ Raptor Resource Project - Decorah Bald Eagles 2021: "Mom" Decorah - Defending her territory?

Taken at the Decorah Fish Hatchery on July 1, 2021, this shows the female adult of the Decorah Eagles pair defending their old territory. This pair has built a new nest about 2 miles east of the hatchery, but mom has been visiting the hatchery (and the pairs old nest from 2020) every day and defending the territory from other raptors that have been spotted in the area.

Meanwhile, her mate DM2, has been busy taking care of the 3 now fledged juveniles at their current nesting site.

Seems “Mom” likes her alone time!

T40 - Thanks for the post on Mom!  She looks wonderful up there on the maple.

I hope I get to see her next week!

Anybirdy else gettin' a warm feeling about a GBH cam if Mom and DM2 continue their absentee landlord residences.  Just sayin'!!   ;) :) ::)

Five minutes later and I've reconsidered.  Great Blue Heron's don't qualify as raptors, and therefore would not be considered proper for RRP funding.  Maybe.....oh well, just speculating.

Use the talents you possess: for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best.

The Flyway cam is a lot more than raptors. (Though it is the GSB hunting ground and also hosts lots of eagles.) Because RRP has the hardware there, perhaps they might partner with another birding organization.

I would support a GBH cam.  We have a rookery near me that is not easily accessible for observation.  I have accompanied park officials studying the rookery and a cam would be a great idea.

Lisa, no doubt you are going to get up close the Mom.  I have stood underneath her when she was perched on a maple tree. She is use to people being near.  You will get some beautiful pictures.

Morning, jaspurr

Oh, I do hope I get to see her, but if I don't just being in Decorah will be worth the long trek!

Best Mom experience for me was when she flew off the pond area while fishing.  She flew nice and low so that I could feel the wind i.e. power of the flight of her wings.  Quiet, beautiful, smooth, strong.  GASP!
