Thanks for the travelogue info on D27 & D36, T40!  D27 appears to spend a good amount of time along the Upper Iowa whenever she's home in IA - maybe she will choose real estate there next year for her adulthood home-sweet-home!

I really hope that the NWS is erring on the side of caution & that DE, DNN, GSB & the Flyway don't have any angry visits from mother nature tonight. 

"Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and last through much of the evening. Some storms will become severe with a risk for large hail, damaging wind, frequent lightning and bouts of heavy rain. A tornado or two is also possible with stronger storms."

The Decorah NWS is gentler than the regional NWS post I saw that had a photo of a tennis ball & a golf ball to illustrate size of potential hail expected.

FYI here is a link to the pinpoint weather report for the Decorah Fish Hatchery. This link always will produce current conditions and forecasts. And while there is not public instrumentation at the hatchery, the NWS devices are on the nearby hilltop neat the airport.

Around 5am, the cam switched from the nest to the Y branch, and a barred owl is sitting on the Y with prey in its talons. A beautiful sunrise this morning after a stormy night!
