T40 - I agree, that stranger looked very comfy at N2B.  They knew where to sit for fish at the hatchery.

Well, I did it -- posted pics from the North nest here at the Decorah forum.  Sorry.  Many of us are watching both. Some of us get distracted easily (that would be me).

T40 I am thinking the same thing.  Our new spotted headed stranger seems very accustomed to this nest.  What NN# is 5 years ago?  None have been transmitted (caught and had a transmitter put on them) correct?

2015 N2 brood 21,22,23. 6 years old.
No transmitters or bands.
Sporting a few 'brown head' spots is possible I suppose.

2016 N2B brood 24,25. 5 years old.
Both D24 and D25 had transmitters and leg bands attached.
D25 is no longer with us and D24's last ping was on 02/18/2021 12 miles west of N2B.
So not one of the 2016 brood.

2017 N2B brood 26,27,28. 4 years old.
D26 and D28, being 4 years old, very slightly possibly maybe, but unlikely with all that head and tail feather white.
D27 has a transmitter/band on also, so definitely not her.

I'm thinking that any of the "D"s from 2017 on are not very likely to be sporting all that white just yet.

21, 22 and 23 certainly know the neighborhood and that was such a magical year watching them. I agree that 26 and 28 are less likely. Think I'll put some spicy BBQ sauce on my grocery list...

Glad to see Mom this morning. The not so friendly neighbors at N2B (oriole and starling from yesterday) must have told her about the visitor.  Make sure the BBQ sauce is REAL Spicy.  I will bring the nose clamps to block the smell.
