AAm learning there is a dead tree very close to N3 tree it seems.  Is the N3 tree on its own decline or just late to leaf out?

Unsure. I think it is fine, only leafing out higher than the nest and a bit later than other species. And remember that eagles actively prune nest trees and surrounding trees. I will try to remember to consider it and answer the next time I am nearby.
Changing times require unchanging principles.

Early morning vocalizing coming from N2B at 5:12am, and then at 5:20am vocalizing again. Someone who sounded like Mom flew down from what looked like the skywalk, and headed towards M2

Was there, is there, a change of service at N2B?  Highlights all day and no mention anywhere  that I can see.  Was off this morning and is still showing in highlight mode.

Puff, I had wondered the same thing, and sent Amy a lil note yesterday asking.

I see it is back up this morning.   :)

BL, thanks for the most current (that we can get) tracking info on our girl D27!  Looks like she hung around the Decorah area for a while in April, then headed back up north.  Don't know if Iowa is experiencing the heat wave we are in Indiana, but if they are I can see why she would be 'high-tailing' it for the northern coolness.

Lisa, great pics of Mom in the pine tree!  That used to be DM2's spot at the hatchery because it was further away from people and he could hide a bit.

T40, thanks for passing on Robin's post from May 15th.  So grateful we have her and iverburl as our 'boots on the ground', keeping us up-to-date on how the eagles are doing.

Nice pics STL!  Wish you could go to the ATF.  :(

Three of the lil fluffy tails living in N2B were very active this morning cleaning up the nest, and this evening one is sunning itself on the skywalk

The squirrels are cute, but the goose was way more exciting!
Another month or so and we might see the eaglets from N3 using N2B as a stopping off point.

We can only hope!  If Mom teaches them how to fish from the retainage pond, she might lead them to N2B.

What I really, really loved about those videos was NO HEAD-SHAKING! Either N3 and/or Decorah is gnat-free this year! :-*

Many thanks to Iverburl for the videos from N3, and to TPABay for posting them here.

The Decorah North nest has very few pesty flying insects so far, also.  Different weather this year.
