Lisa, that's one beautiful sub-adult visiting N2B. Pickings on the nest are pretty slim this spring. No growth from nestover foliage.

Love the Wood Ducks! So gorgeous.

Always lovely to see Mom. Thanks, Lisa.

Haven't been able to get into forum since the 1st!  Just catching up on all the posts since then.

BL, whether you were right about the SA or not, your posts always make me smile!

TPA, I don't 'do' social media, including FB, and things like the uber hack are part of the reason.

Peep, agree totally - and love your message at the bottom of your posts.  :)

Ginger, thanks for the Robin Brumm post!  It's our only link to what's going on at N3 this season.  I wasn't 'around' when the eagles built N2 and no one could see them that season either.  Now I know how everyone felt!  :P

Matisse, thanks for the uplifting news about the resurgence of bald eagles! I just read an article in the local paper that the eagles have made an overwhelming comeback in Indiana also.  Does your heart good, doesn't it?!

nanimal, I couldn't agree more on how much we miss our beloved Decorah eagles.  But it has made me watch the DN nest this season - I usually only have time to watch one nest - and I have really enjoyed it.  Perhaps if and when Mom & DM2 come back to N2B I'll just have to be ambinesttrous. LOL

Lori, loved your tribute to Mr. Decorah.  Seven years already?!  Wow!  :o  And had to laugh at the D36 throwback gifs - too cute!

T40, thanks for passing on the info on D27 & D36.  I always had a soft spot for D27 - spunky gal!

Lisa, special thanks for all the pics you provide on a daily basis!  Outstanding!!

Salute to NWar--"ambinestrous" is new to me and maybe even the Dictionaerie. ??  :) ;) ;)

Looks like it indeed! We have seen osprey around Decorah before, but rarely. I wonder if perhaps their diving rather than an eagle's snatching style is more difficult in our area's shallow waters?

NW - Thanks  :)

iver - I think I remember seeing one a couple years ago on cam, when the operators were giving us a tour around the area.  I would imagine it is a lil difficult for them in the shallow waters.

The past few early mornings around 6am or so, you can hear an eagle vocalizing near N2B. This morning, one was vocalizing at 6 and 7 am near N2B.
As the cam operator was panning around, I spotted an eagle flying down stream, and then crossed the road above the tree line.  They are not the best pics since they are so far away, and were from around 7:30am.
