With the sun setting, the feathers look like a rich velvet  :)

Lisa - there's definitely guyliner, but I'm hesitant to guess that it's beloved DM2 taking a break from N3 while Mom incubates & I can't spot a brood patch from the cam angles.  Great photos!

Buzbee - thanks for the tip!

The beak was what caught my eye & to my non-eagle eyes it didn't look like DM2's beak.

Did you see a little earlier (about 5:55ish) that he landed there and a bit later mom flew in and shoved him off the nest! It was great!! She hung around awhile. I'm pretty sure it was her.

TPA - I was thinking it might be DM2 at first, but the beak looks a lil different than DM2s.

No, I don't think that was DM2. Similar, but not him. He looks like our recent visitor.
I think that was around 5:55, around there anyway.

Yeah mom would not shove dm2 off nest like that. She would do that to an intruder. I thought at first it was dm2 but moms actions says no.
