STL - My understanding of copyright laws - which is minimal and for what it's worth - is if you didn't write it or photograph it, it's not yours to share without permission. I may be in line for some handcuffs, but I freely share RRP photos that appear on their social media sites, but don't touch professional or semi-professional photography, like Robin's, David Lynch's and Sue and Benny's.

I didn't mean to cause a problem when I told you about the pictures on Robin's website.  I just thought you might enjoy looking at them.  The cam operator is panning the scenery around the North nest.  The snow does look beautiful but N2 Mom looks like she would rather be in Florida.

Jaspurr, you didn't cause a problem, and I thank you for mentioning Robin's website. I'm a subscriber, but don't get email reminders when she posts. She is very clear about "look but don't use" for her photo work.

You also mentioned using one of my sunrise photos as a screensaver -- or some such.  I'm OK with such use, and am a raw amateur when capturing pics from  the RRP live feeds.  Still, it was a good excuse to check on copyright for photos.  Copyright regs in the digital age are just catching up to the technology, and it's good citizenship to know what's what.  I did a tiny bit of searching on the Forum page but didn't find anything yet.

I want to say that was DM2 on the Y, but I am just not all that positive. 

I use to be confident in saying oh there is DM2, but since they haven't been around in a while...I lost that confidence.

Lisa, thanks for the link about Forum & RRP policies. All good reminders, but nothing about copyright for pics we post here. 

I found some more good info under the "About Us" tab on the RRP website, Licensing and Rights.  Discussion about the Creative Commons agreement.  And I just emailed Amy Ries.  So probably more info on the way.

Nora, go to the bottom of her site and click on the 3-7 picture of Mom.  The pictures of Mom and Dad chasing off intruders are really amazing.  It looks like one of the eagles is flying with his back to the ground and his talons facing up to the sky.

I just went into Robin's site and clicked on the 3/7 pic of Mom, but all I saw was a picture of geese flying according to the caption below the picture. Other than that, it was just pics of Mom & DM2 on and around the new nest. Beautiful pics though! And loved the closeup of the cardinal.  Where did you see the pic of them chasing off intruders?  I went to the day trip pictures because all of the other Decorah Eagle pics were from previous years.

EA, thanks for the heads-up.  Caught a few pics on rewind this morning.   It sure looks like Mom, and also after the eagle leaves you can hear someone land on N2B and it sounds like they are feaking their beak.
