Pretty fowl on the retention pond this morning 6:30?  Anyone see that?

My guess is a merganser even with a couple females.

P

It sure was a pretty duck!

Well, maybe a merganser, but my money is on a Northern Shoveler male, and most likely same females.

My confidence is greater for the squirrel having breakfast on the N2B nest, then making off with some material for its own nest.

STL, maybe a mallard? I can't get clear enough focus to see the color of the bill.

Great pics everyone!  Nice to see Mom back at the maple(2), but wish they hadn't built a nest elsewhere.  Last year was a stellar year for the Decorah eagles, but unfortunately due to COVID it wasn't a good year for us humans.  I was hoping that this year we'd be able to see them start a family again at N2B and catch glimpses of them at the ATF in July.  But it looks like they are already laying eggs at the new nest and will not be returning to N2B, at least not until the fledges, if at all.  One question, I thought their new nest was being named N3, but I saw on a video posting that someone called it N5.  Which is it?

NW, its so good to see you!!!  :D :-*

I think it was originally called N5, cause of it being the 5th nest build by the eagles, but then RRP changed it to N3.

Puff, I noticed you didn't have the Country Inn listed this year - are they completely booked up already?  I liked them because of the swimming pool & jacuzzi.

Yes, NW, sorry!  I start procuring rooms in the fall, but by October Country was already reserved.  A wedding, a reunion, and Seed Saver are in competition for the space.  Also heard something about "spraying" being done.  Don't know if they're doing something about the nasty bugs??  Asked a couple times, no one replied.

Is there still a room available at Quality Inn and is it on the main level?  if so, I'll grab it.  I still have your contact info and can call you tomorrow to reserve.
