TPA - Thanks  :)

BL - I think after looking at the nest this morning in the IR light, and reading your comment...it does look like a nest bowl   :D  Or, all we just hoping it does?  :-\

At 4:00 this afternoon, there's plenty of nesting material on the surface of N2B, but I think no depression or bowl yet.  Maybe that's work for tomorrow.

Hoping that we get to see eaglets at this tree this year, but not very high expectations.

Use the talents you possess: for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best.

On rewind, I didn't see any Decorah eagles, but there were geese as expected and Mallards in the stream at N1.

Great pics, STL

I saw a chatter on Explore say there was an opossum near the stream today.

I did not see it.

RRP reports on their FB page:

Based on observations by Robin Brumm, Scott Iverson, and Dave Kester, Mom laid her first egg in the Yonder Yonder nest, aka N3, either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

Ginger, thanks for the news about Mom laying an egg. N3 is a good name for the new location. Let's see, this year's eaglets will fledge in about mid-June, and we might see them at N2B soon after.

I was just getting used to "N5" as the designation for the new nest! :P

Did you know ... Board Member, Neil Rettig, shot some of his film of N1 for the 2008 "Nature" episode entitled "American Eagle" from the window at the top of the barn? ;)
