Love your pics, Lisa. Deer are most active just about dawn and dusk. They crossed the intersection by the farm in traffic! No pic though.  Lots of geese in the retention pond.

STL, hubby and I were watching when they were crossing the road, and both hollering at the screen....hurry!

Thankfully, it seemed both cars slowed down or stopped for them to cross.  :)

Thankfully, most drivers around the Decorah nest areas seem to be aware of wildlife and drive carefully. Deer can definitely do lots of damage to a vehicle in a collision, and vice-versa.  Many years ago a deer leaped from a country road embankment over the hood of my car! No crash, but I remember it like yesterday. Made me a more careful and watchful driver.   :o

We are sorry to announce that RRP Board member Brett Mandernack found eaglet D35 dead on January 29, 2021, along the banks of the Iowa River just south of Iowa City. All of us find it heartbreaking to lose another eagle. It is one thing to know that first-year bald eagles have high mortality rates and another to see it reflected in the lives of eagles we have come to know and love.
