I was in rewind and wanted to snip a pic of yesterday's red-tailed hawk pair.  I caught the second hawk flying in.  Not the sharpest pic, but you can see the 2nd hawk's pretty red tail as it arrives.

Great pic, Ginger!

Yes, definitely a great catch of the red-tailed hawk landing. I was unaware that the undersides of their tails are white.  That hawk book might be a good addition to my library.

And thanks for the heads-up on Monday's chat about the new nest.

Pure conjecture on my part. Gleaned from the previous on the ground reports.

I'll map out my best guess and let you all decide where N5 might be.

Within the ellipse ?

Could be totally wildly wrong.
I do know BE's enough to know they aren't going upstream away from a fish hatchery and eating fish in a barrel.

Away from the hatchery NE downstream Trout Run towards the Upper Iowa River.

This concerns me as a lover of all birds. Fame.

What a mutually good decision for our eagle baby's.
Going out at # 1 on the explore. com site at 17 year yrs old Mom said.

No shit DM2 said as a wise mate. You don't look a white feather over 6 my dear.

Check out these here digs as a genetically nest building male bald eagle built, Mom, that is cool, now I'm gravid.

Please respect the private property owners, RRP and most importantly the eagles.

Looks like a bloody good tree crotch for a Bald Eagle nest to me.

Nest tree type: By the bark of it it's truly hard to tell from these here images from this distance at leaf off

Good catch, Lisa. On the rewind, there were at least 4 wandering about at the edge of the woods, including a nice buck.

Yes, Lisa, agreed that the RTHs are fun to watch. Wonder where they build nests?

Late this afternoon, one of the BEs is in a bluff tree, one with millions of branches. I'm guessing DM2.

Great pics, STL

I have often wondered that too about the RTH's.
