Lisa, thanks for the great pics from yesterday! Mating behavior here as well as at the North's in the fall.  Good for the eagles to strengthen their pair bonds.

Similar pics of Mom's visit this morning. No fish, just a visit.

First, many thanks to all, especially Lisa, for the pics. You make it clear that Mom and DM2 are very active, and we can see only a small fraction of what goes on in their life. I really hope they do not choose N3 again this year. I thought I read something a long time ago that eagles won't nest in a dead/dying tree because of lack of shade. Also, the nest is very heavy, which makes it dangerous. Does anyone know more about this?

lil - We had a boots on the ground report from one of the CamOps about a week or so ago, and they had seen both at N3, but Mom was also seen on cam that day as well.

My personal opinion, and I could be wrong, but I think they will nest again at N3.  RRP also has said, the N3 tree is extremely dead.

STL - I love that 2nd pic of Mom in the nest.  She needs to stay put.   :D

Lisa, I agree, Mom should stay at N2B. Or N1.  Maybe a really long tether that reaches to the retention pond then rolls back up when she lands.   :o

I'll have to post something later, but here's a shot from N1, as captured by our motion detector! 😂Nice to see you, Mom!

Morning pics from Decorah - CamOps found this eagle in many different places this morning.  It sort of looks like DM2.

Any time Mom or DM2 or both are in camera range, it's a good day!
