update on Samson missing & included a couple of photos of the beautifule couple. Prayers needed for Samson's safe return.

At the NEFL nest of Samson and Gabrielle: via Facebook American Eagle Foundation LIVE Nest CamsAs most of you are aware, Samson has not been seen at the nest since Thursday evening; however, he and Gabrielle were spotted perched together Friday morning on a nearby tree off cams. We are concerned that Samson has not returned to the nest, and can assure you that everything is being done to try to find his whereabouts. When we have any information at all, we will post updates. We appreciate everyone's concerns and prayers for Samson's safe return. ❤️
AEF NEFL ~ Intruder Lands On Branch! Gabby Defends Her Nest & Chases Off! Samson Is Missing 11.27.22 https://youtu.be/lx4UhY6aTJ4 via LadyHawkGabby was perched on a branch when all of a sudden an intruder eagle lands on a neighboring branch! Gabby did not like it and vocalized her displeasure. Some people thought this eagle was Samson but it clearly was not him. This eagle is younger, thinner and has black tips on its tail feathers along with some dark feather spots on its head and some discoloration on its beak all indicating it is probably a male just turning 5 years old.
After several minutes of Gabby's vocals, the intruder flew to the nest and began to move around the nesting material. Gabby then lands on the nest and drove him out - biting his wing and chasing him off. The eagle flew to a branch above the nest for a couple of minutes before flying off. Gabby remained in the nest tree and is okay. I have included coverage from cam 1, 2, 3 and 4!
The presence of another eagle with Samson missing now for three days is very concerning. One of the causes of an eagle going missing is a territorial fight - and we rarely get to see this on the cam. An intruder eagle fought with Juliet back in 2018 and that is what caused her to go missing and never return to the nest and for Romeo to ultimately leave as well with the nest failure. So continued prayers for Samson's well being and for a safe return. Thank you for watching!
The intruder did return later this evening and is perched on sunset branch while Gabby is sleeping on the wallenda branch. It is peaceful for now but this is raw nature and we don't know how this will all play out.
