New site chosen for Elk River peregrine falcons
January 15, 2020
The group decided to install the nesting box on a pole located on Great River Energy?s Elk River campus not far from the plant, which will offer a bit of familiarity for the falcons once they return, as well as the recommended height for the nest and required power available for the birdcam.

Employees install nest box for falcons
February 14, 2020
Work to provide a new home to the peregrine falcons who usually nest at Elk River Energy Recovery Station has begun. With decommissioning of the Elk River power plant underway, employees chose a new site for the falcons to return to for their typical nesting period from mid-February through March, depending on weather patterns.

Line technicians set a pole with a platform, nest box and camera on a hill atop the cooperative?s native prairie, adjacent to the power plant. Next involves getting the camera that will monitor the falcons? nesting activities operational.

March 3
The male here is probly there now, perhaps Breezy too - or soon.
I am checking all falcon cams as the birds are pairing up.
The Amycam links are not working for falcons

Sounds like the 2020 cam will be QUIETER - if they can get a cam working.
Hope it has sound.  Sound adds SO MUCH!
