GOOD JOB!
I musta blinked - missed that!

Late afternoon hail
As soon as Barb started experiencing the hail, she hopped back into the nest and covered her eggs.

April 21, 2019
only 3 eggs - what happened to egg 4?
Chesapeake Conservancy
Hi everyone, we were closed for Good Friday and had an event on Thursday, sorry to have missed the chatter here. We?re confident a human did not move the egg.

April 19 at 7:23pm  3 eggs
19 April hail must have broken one egg and Barb removed it from nest

March 22 there was a hail storm.  I was watching live and Barb was off when it began

I did not watch this nest after egg 4 was laid.
BCAW posted there are only 3 eggs so I looked on explore

April 22, 2019
I guess we are on pip watch later this week
7.20 am  Eggs have been alone for at least 15 minutes
Barb is a good mom. Her first year everyone called her crazy girl.
Now I remember that with affection and humor, she is odd.
8.30  She is back on eggs -  she was off over an hour
Boh was on guard on the outside of that bridge

April 23, 2019  Temp 56
3.30 am  I saw a falcon come into nest thru the door and head to eggs.
Its DARK and no IR so I was amazed to see activity!

5.30 am  I see the outline of Barb in doorway - still too dark to see anything else
She is cherishing her freedom before 3 hungry kids will want 24/7 attention!

5.45 am  FFD = First Fingers of Dawn tint skyline, and falcon heads to eggs
6 am  I can now see Barb on her eggs with Bo on guard on the other side of the bridge.

6.15  Lots of turning and scrunching as she helps her babies hatch

7.15 am  No one on eggs
7.35  Barb is back - I am not catching exact times - too busy
8 am  Bo has egg duty

9.10 am  one is about to hatch
#2 may be close behind
I think I saw 2 of em tryin to git out
or - perhaps its just the shading of light -?

12.45 pm  Barb is shielding the eggs from hot sun, panting
I keep trying to look UNDER her - lol
1.50 pm  shade covers Barb and eggs - whew
1 pm  eggs are safe in shade so Barb leaves - she needs water or a juicy pigeon
I still say they're hatching
falcon back on eggs peeping  - looking up

7.20 pm  I got a pic of eggs

Its warm, eggs will be fine.
I have seen falcons remove a non viable egg from the nest - or push it off to the side.  This year I am seeing falcons delay laying compared to that birds previous year.  One falcon has lost 2 mates and is now trooping on feeding 4 chicks.  Instictively they know how to delay hatch by not incubating.

I am always so surprised to see birds ACTIVE all night long!
I watch a lot of nest cams, and its eye opening for me

WHERE IS BO?
April 24, 2019  Temp 68 - 75
6.15 am  Barb is on her eggs
7.15  WHERE IS BO?  Barb keeps looking for him and calling.
That end spot looking like a hatching chick yesterday - but it hasnt changed, so ...

12.45 pm  Another falcon is harassing her as she stands over eggs in hot sun
She kaks at it. I seriously doubt its Boh.

3 pm  She leaves eggs and goes on top of bridges to look around

03:05pm, Barb sees something to the left and leaves in a hurry.
CAM ZOOMED ON EGGS

Boh has always been faithful to Barb and his eggs.
Is Boh still around? Is it possible ANOTHER MALE is around?
Barb took over this spot after fighting the first female
THAT would explain Barb being the only one incubating

in Kentucky, the female lost her mate and is feeding 4 beeks alone -
and doing FANTASTIC

April 25, 2019  Temp 62 rain
6 am  There's Barb on eggs
7.20 am  Barb gets up, stretchs, goes up on the bridge and peers over,
 - takes a quick fly and is right back on eggs
7.30  off again, but right back - poor girl
9 am  She takes another 5 minute flybreak,
 -  returns mumbling - Boh where in the GHO are you?!
8.08  another break - top of bridge - bobs head - looks down, up, side to side
8.11  she dives
8.12  back

She best hunt, eat NOW - cant once chicks hatch!
There is still another falcon flying around there.
Could be another male seeking a mate or last years fledge
