NEW FEMALE
Jan 1, 2021

People posting on Explore say this is a new female.
2015 this Barb arrived and had a VERY nasty fight with the former Barb and won the nest. I wonder if she fought with this new fem.

RRP my notes
Barb is a great mom

Barb  is from Philadelphia, PA  2013 hatch
Barb band (horizontal)  b/g 09/AR  *  Bo not banded
2015  Laid 3 eggs  April,  fledged 3 - Barb's first breeding year. We called her crazy girl.
2016  Egg 1  laid March 16
2017  Egg 1  laid March 12
2018  Egg 1  laid March 19
2019 Barb laid 4 eggs, only fledged 2
April 2019 Bo disappeared and a new male arrived. Maybe he was ill.

2020  Barb and the new Boh fledged 3

Feb 12, 2021
I scrolled back to their peep n bow session.
It was unusually long.  Not like a mated pair.

Our regular Barb had/has a green band, so does this female.  Barb's behavior is like the last few years.

It could be a new Boh - by behavior.  I dont know.

I have watched this cam for several years and NEVER saw mating.
This is the 2nd male - Boh  -  and the 3rd Barb

My image is today, March 14 - bonding in the dirty corner.  yuk

 :(  Too many falcons
March 16, 2021
When I first began watching this cam, Barb2 had fought and replaced Barb1
In 2019 Boh disappeared and Boh2 showed up.
Now 2021 there appears to be at least 2 females
Here are videos off Explore from yesterday

Mar 15, 2021 Ruh, roh. I don't want anymore drama in this nest. I think it is Barb3 in the nest under the ledge when Boh2 flies to the ledge just outside the doorway. Suddenly another peregrine flies by, and they both take off

Mar 15, 2021 It comforted me to see how eager she was to collect a prey offering from Boh2 in the nest after the previous flyby of the unknown Peregrine falcon. Things still seem stable for now..

notabirdwatcher mentioned there are more Peregrines in the area now. She lives in the area and is very familiar with this nest.

2 HATCHLINGS
April 30, 2021
At dawn Bo brot Barb prey but it was too dark to see if she fed chicks.
Pictured is Bo bringing prey later.
Barb ate for awhile - kids screamed for food
So far I have not SEEN her feed them.
She stands between cam and kids

She may feed them and I cant see
Egg 3 may hatch, dont think 4th will

This pair do not seem bonded, meaning both have a lot to learn.
I know its a new Barb - it may be a new Boh too

noon - Mom with 2 kids tucked under

1 pm  I caught Dad and Mom with kids - with prey
This is what I saw
2 open beek kids begging
Dad eating
Finally I saw Dad give a bite to Mom who gave it to one chick

Thats all I witnessed
Dad took prey and left
