Thanks Rues.  Tell Robin thanks too.  Joan and I cant travel, except hopefully to Berlin and Lehman's next summer, but we sure enjoy seeing other places.

God bless those in need and suffering.

Daily Updates
Mink Mystery - UPDATE January 19, 2020
19 January 2020
 Print Email
Clear or not Clear?that is the question. As New Mink started the day looking in the window, he or she was not aware of the many clever new names being circulated on Facebook. Curiosity made me look back at pictures of Clear and I found I hadn?t been observant enough. New Mink
New Mink 1-19-20
Three or four different minks were marked as being Clear. Which one was the real Clear and which were imposters impersonating him or New Mink? Problems in looking at the pictures is differences in body position and lighting. Also, we?re not sure if white patches vary slightly from year to year. In person, I?d look closely enough to separate Stripe from Clear but didn?t look further as the mink flitted around with me trying to snap a picture. Differences in other markings down the throat and chest escaped me. They seldom were visible. They seldom stood up like New Mink did yesterday for his ID picture. Embarrassing! I?m supposed to be a scientist. Maybe detractors who say I am not a scientist are right?at least as far as mink go. Here are pictures of New Mink looking in the window and two old pictures of Clear. We?ll keep sharper eyes out for all the suspects.

After the snowstorm, few flakes fell today as shown in the chickadee picture.

At the Bear Center, Happy Cub captured 6 pictures that are in a 17-second video slide show. Happy Cub said Ted got up, shook off the straw, looked out the door at his kingdom, stretched, and licked snow before settling back down. https://www.facebook.com/139730642706794/videos/2681208182000081/?v=2681208182000081

God morning everyone- tennis just over. I did sleep 4 hours between matches since it was raining and outside court play was suspended. No one complained about rain. Australian needed it to put out fires. Tonights schedule is out but I don't have it yet. I know Rafa is playing- will post time later cal. So thrilled for the Chiefs. I did not get to see it at all! Our cable was out 12 hours- must have been something major for that to happen. Came on at 8 P.M.
I did see some highlights like Mahome's  TD run- what a guy!

Going to bed- have a great day jewelies!

I just screwed up TWO long posts.  Last try and will hit highlights...

Cal if Jim leaving Ford?  Thanks for all the puzzles.

Looks like Robin was having fun Rues.

Miss you JP!

After -26 F wind chills this weekend, +14/feels like +14 feels great.  We didn't get much snow, maybe 4 inches or a hair more, but it blew around so much.  Hope everyone did ok.

Threw a few pictures of our goofball in an album and a couple snow pictures, hope the link will work for you.

I am going to hit "post" before I mess this one up (getting used to a new keyboard).

Daily Updates
White Pines, Minks - UPDATE January 20, 2020
20 January 2020
 Print Email
The full version of ?Eastern White Pine: The Tree Rooted in American History? is now on Youtube. Here is the link as promised White Pine
White Pine
on November 17, 2019 https://youtu.be/bQs7novlvtA. It?s 57 minutes of my favorite tree that towers over all the others in this area and is also a favorite of bears and some other wildlife as I say during the 40-44 minute time slot. Produced by Ray Asselin, it features my friend Bob Leverett, President and Founder of the Eastern Native Tree Society. Somehow, Ray and his team came up with perfect New Mink
New Mink
pictures of wildlife to go with my words. Good job throughout.

Here at the WRI, the picture of New Mink shows him or her as we usually see it approach. I?d see the wide white chin patch and familiarity with our bologna procedures and think it was Clear. Now I?m waiting for another Clear to show up and give me hope that a Clear did not end up in a trap at the beginning of November.

I have a favorite name for New Mink from among the names you all suggested, but I?m waiting to see what others think and if any more names come up.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- my morning routine is somewhat in disarray. However the tennis is great. Last night was jam packed because of the rain Sunday night. Only one match had to be rescheduled to tonight.
cal- yes Rafa in pink! Wow. And Roger was in purple- my personal fav.  Ten wins yesterday among the Americans and 9 losses. Soooo- tonight Coco Gauff plays at approximately 8 PM. Then Serena at 2 AM with Roger after Serena. My plan is to watch Coco then go to bed until 2AM - set the alarm. So far i'm not missing many Americans on the computer live scores. TV isn't on until 8 PM tonight. Five American matches start at 6 so i'll follow scoring on my laptop.

We still have ice here but from the forecast that is about to change. Another storm moving in tomorrow that is supposed to last until Friday. But with temps around 30- 34 maybe we'll lose the ice.

cal- hubby has furnace figured out- needs to order parts. We really don't need it unless the wind is howling and it's below zero. The sun is out!!! Weather guy says -enjoy it because we probably won't see it again for 9 days, Ugh!

Heading to the city this afternoon- visit bil in hospital, have lunch and do some grocery shopping.

Have a great day jewelies!
