Good morning everyone-ty jp for the tugboat teddies , Sharon and the colorful cupcakes- yum! I agree that the important thing is that you got up!

johoward- I hope you have a great trip today- look forward to hearing about it.

cal- i'm not surprised sweets was being impatient with you- after all he should be your priority- lol. Duke went home last night late- around 9:30. I stayed up so I could visit with his mom- knew we needed to set up summer camp times for duke to come here. The dog in the dog shame looks just like duke except duke has some white along his muzzle now. Duke sits on my chair while I eat my meals and usually is very good. But yesterday we had salmon for lunch- I wasn't paying close attention- he usually is good and he almost pulled the salmon off my plate. It must be one of his favorites.

It is beautiful here this morning- cool with no humidity- turned off ac and opened windows to a northwest breeze. Will try to get my viney project done this morning. Ted's cam is down this am but the kids in decorah are just about ready to fly. I missed two of the branchings -soon i'll tune in and the nest will be empty. So proud of Mom Decorah- this has been another learning year for us.

Have a great day jewelies!

jp's MArlins beat my Giants again

That is really amazing as the Marlins gutted a really good offense and only have 3 position players from the previous years team.  Their record is just about the worst in the league as 25 wins and 42 losses.

Jewel at the scale.

Fond Thursday thoughts for each of you.  Let's all have a nice day.

I am not up to par this morning but I will loaf this morning and see if things improve.

Daily Updates
Lucky, Daisy, and a Male - UPDATE June 13, 2018
13 June 2018
 Print  Email
On this day in the 80?s F, Lucky enjoyed a relaxing swim in the pond as was captured in this 1-minute video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVkuKigzTjU.Daisy in 2015
Daisy in 2015

Daisy 2011 by Jim Stroner
Daisy 2011 by Jim Stroner
Mating was in the air last night as a medium-sized, scarred-up male mounted a calm 2-year-old Lucy for over 45 minutes until a bigger male came on the scene.

The night before, 7-year-old Daisy, a bear we seldom see, seemed interested in 2-year-old Fred to no avail. Beautiful Daisy is easily recognized because she has a bow on her chest almost exactly like the bow on her mother Bow?s chest. However, unlike Bow, Daisy also has white under her chin, which is hidden in the picture of her from 2015 on the right but revealed in the photo from 2011 on the left. She has a habit of standing up a lot. Daisy seldom visits supplemental feeding areas, and as a result did not have cubs until she was 6 years old.

A treat tonight was a visit from Lucy, who is alone but in obvious estrus. We?ll see what she is up to the next few days.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning everyone- jp- ty for the hairbow teddy and jewel; it is always good to see her- was she at NABC at some time- looks like their scale?

AC off overnight and it is raining right now- so good- abit of a thunderstorm- not severe- tank went out to eat breakfast with my other two but came back in.Supposed to have showers all morning and by tomorrow we get 90's again with heat indices above 100. So I went to the library yesterday- got 3 books- reading a James Patterson book -Princess- now. For the hot weekend I got the first Harry Potter book. They have all of them. Funniest thing is- the employee working at the library was a guy I see infrequently. He is normally very quiet maybe shy. Kind of youngish- well at my age everyone is youngish. I asked him about the Potter books- he lad me to them- never would have found them in the young adult section. We had  a  conversation about Potter. So thank you guys for the interest in these books.

Got my grape vines sprayed yesterday- just hope the stuff actually works. It was a perfect day yesterday- cool with a slight breeze. Pulled weeds in my perennial beds too. I got bertha stuck driving out in the field. Hubby had mowed a pathbut i forgot there was a deep ditch for overflow from pond. I hit it pretty hard on the way out and coming back i went real slow. Front wheels dropped in and stayed there. Had to rock back and forth a few times to get out. Haven't had to do that maneuver in a long time and probably never in June! With the rain today we may have to mow this week- such a beautiful sound- rain and rumbles of thunder.

Oh cal- two more dogs!!! and big puppies-  what will you do! Friends of jim's will take them? i don't think St. Bernards would ever be hunting dogs- would have liked to see jim "herding" the dogs to the shop. There may be a St, Bernard rescue  group somewhere who would take them. Not surprised they like the ac- really thick coats. People who dropped them off make me mad- really mad! But they knew you would take good care of them.

Off to walk and class- then lunch and shopping with my sil.

Have a great day jewelies!
