Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi Jewelies!  Another hot one here.

cal... Did you watch the race yesterday?  I just happened to see it (by accident)... was walking by the tv and there it was.  Not real exciting, but still love to see the horses.  I hope you have good luck with Windows 10!  Another mass murderer... 50 killed in FL.  Don't understand how people can do that.

Nora... Your weather sounds so nice!

Hi, Jewelies. Been watching NBC's coverage of the murders in Orlando. How sad.  :'(

Cal, I didn't get to watch Hyacinth yesterday because I went with my sis and Sandy to a 13 mile yard sale! It was out in the country where are grandparents lived. It took us almost an hour to get there. What a mess we got into. The road winds up this hill with several sharp turns for about mile then it flattens out where there are several houses. The problem was everyone had parked at the top of the hill in the right lane of the road because all the homeowners had their drive ways blocked off so to get by the vehicles you had to drive on the wrong side of the road. That was great until we met traffic coming down the road heading right towards us! Sis was driving Sandy's big Ford truck and knew there was no way she could back that truck up all the back down that hill! So Sandy took over the driving and was able to partially back into this guys yard until all the traffic passed. Then we got the he** out of Dodge! We headed back home! We stopped at some yard sales on the way back and then went to a flea market in Marietta, OH. We had lunch, too! Turned out to be a fun day! Hope you can catch those kittens. Are they still nursing?

Ra, glad you made it home ok! Did you get sun poisoning? I didn't know your daughter got married in Costa Rica! How did that happen?  I've got my grand kitties visiting for who knows how long. Robin's ac went out today. Have to call the repairman tomorrow and who knows how long it will take for him to come to the house. It's been so miserably hot the past few days. At least Robin has a window ac in her bedroom but she didn't want her babies staying in a hot house while she's at work. That's so funny because when they are here they stay outside on the hot porch all the time! Lol!

Jp, glad your stent checkup went well! Crow's did, too! He doesn't have to go back for another year!

Hi Nora, Eaglette and Obsver!

Hi rues...  I don't quite know what that rash was... I still have a few bumps... but it itched like crazy!!  Drove me nuts.  A few of the bumps looked almost like hives or something.  I'm just glad the itching went away before I had to spend 7 hours in the car!!  lol  My daughter said she was going to tranquilize me if it was still itching!  lol  Did you buy anything at the yard sales?  Hope Robin's air gets fixed tomorrow!!  Yikes!  What a time for it to go out!  It's supposed to be hot here all week, and chance of t-storms every day.  Hope we get some rain!!  Even my violets (weeds) are all wilted and dead!  Yeah, my daughter went to Costa Rica to get married... I was so sad.  They said it was their day, not everyone else's.  We had a reception after they got home, but still not the same...

cal...  I can't figure out why they even MAKE assault rifles.  Should be just for the military.  Oh, Handsome!  All I hear is "Out" "Out" "Out" "Out" "Out"   ::)   ::)   ::)   ::)

Victoria.

cal, You asked about the Marlins.  They have lost 4 of their last 6 games.  Did your conversion to Windows 10 finish?  I saw that you were able to post a picture.

Happy Monday thoughts to all.

Daily Updates
Bears and Wildlife - UPDATE June 12, 2016
12 June 2016
Print Email
Yesterday Samantha (7), daughter of Braveheart, granddaughter of Shadow, visited the WRI with her four cubs. This is Samantha's third litter. Mike is pretty sure she has Lucky, the comedian
Lucky, the comedian
two females and two males, time will tell if he is right. The cubs do not appear to have any distinguishing marks which makes it tougher to tell them apart. We are watching their behavior, hoping it will help us identify them in the future.

Last night at about 11 pm, two of the cubs were very interested in a moth hovering around the food they were eating.  Always up for a little fun, the cubs turned it into a play opportunity.  Sorry, we have no pictures or videos of this due to the lack of light.

Ted sniffing out food
Ted sniffing out food
At the NABC, Tasha was playing with her empty food bowl and using it as a hat. This type of play is a good sign that she is getting more comfortable with her surroundings. It has been noted by our Tasha Cam viewers that she likes to grab her hind leg, just like Lucky bear.  Her play in her enclosure indicates she is building confidence and settling in to her new home. A Lily Fan captured some of this play today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXk0OQJvSHc. Last night Tasha moved the straw in front of the small bunker den entrance where she slept on it. You can view her live cam here: http://www.bear.org/website/live-cameras/live-cameras/tasha-s-cam-live.html.

She receives regular visitations throughout the day with positive interactions which is building the bond between her and the caregivers.

Fawn in the forest
Fawn in the forest
Ted was out in the big enclosure during the 11 am enrichment program. Staff spread food around the pond area and inside the big log seen from the viewing area. Ted's nose led him to the food that was inside the log.

Lucky continues to maintain his name as the "pond comedian" as the picture above proves.  He still sticks close to Holly, today they spent time resting and playing in the white pine tree.

Nature Walk Note: Today was a nice day for a walk on one of the many trails in the area. Mike snapped this picture of a very young fawn. For the first few weeks of life, a fawn will instinctively lie motionless when approached by a potential predator in hopes of going unnoticed. They also have very little odor and are well camouflaged with spots to help blend into the forest.

Thank you for supporting the NABC and the WRI.

Good Morning jewelies! it is 70 here and really hazy out there. another hot day today and they took out my cooler days to come..so sad over that. even with the severe thunderstorms for tomorrow still in the upper 90s. Good pictures and stories today in the update.  guess dr. rogers made it to alaska.

Hi Jp! thanks for the pic of victoria! I forgot to tell you royals winning that game yesterday ventura was the starting pitcher and he pitched great too. did not hit anyone or lose his cool. just pitched a good game like he is suppose too do. Yes my windows 10 all in that computer over there. on my 7 here. when i get some free time will fiddle with it. maybe when jim goes down to the lake next weekend. i do believe i will like more than that 8.1.

Hi Rues! Wow some yard sale they had the town garage sales two weeks ago. i did not go with missy had to mow and stuff and scootie gets another pill now at 11:30 am.i would of left that one of yours too. what a mess. i like the big church sales everything right there. but you guys had alot fun and that is the biggest part. i was try to make some time to play our game with sister when she comes. i just fed the mom cat but still have not seen those kittens. this morning i put her plate down and sit back and she came and ate it was watching me but ate. i was trying to see under her if she was nursing but could not tell. she must be i can't believe she got them kittens that far away from the barn i always have kitten chow out there in a pan. i would think i would see one of them as many times as i go out to the barn. fans so loud be hard for them to hear me come.

Hi Ra! I don't know why they make them assaults rifles either but don't know why they make meth or herion. all i know is they do always will and people will always get them. i heard on the news this morning isis took responsibility for that mass murder he was one of them. they were really proud of him. saw tons of people standing in line to donate blood for them poor people that got hurt in that stupid shooting. had to turn some away. whole thing makes me sick.

I got to do all my stuff and go to walmart but not mowing today. lots of book work and cleaning the house today and barn stuff

I did "Ghost Riders In The Sky" in 5:59.  I sure do not see anyone doing it in 3:45 like the fastest says.

Rues that does NOT sound like fun on that hill.

RA, if I've been in the sun I get little bumps that itch like mad.  They aren't red, but itch like crazy.  Sometimes lotion helps for a while.  I've tried Allegra anti-itch, which works sometimes.  I hate it.  This has happened several summers now.

Neat puzzle (which I will do while I eat lunch).  Always loved that song "Ghost Riders in the Sky".

It's been raining off and on and thundering a bit.  I guess I won't mow.  >:(  It's 72 going on noon and headed for 84.

Got a mile and a half walk in this morning with Chester and got back a little bit, very little bit, before the rain came.  I was sure watching those clouds moving in while we were gone  :D

There are a lot of guns that aren't "assault" rifles that can shoot just as many times and quickly and do a lot of damage.  Sadly if guns were banned people that shouldn't have them will find a way to get them anyway.
