Hi Cal! Bet Boo Boo and Houla had a great time today! Running free like that must be a real treat! Do either of them get into the pond?  Yesterday I took Boo with me when I went to Robin's to check her house and bring in the mail. He is always excited to go back to his old home. He wants out the back door as soon as we get there so he can run outside and look for the feral cats. He still remembers they hang out in the back yard. But they are smart and jump over the fence long before he gets to them. Then he comes back inside and sits at the front door waiting to go back to our home! Lol!  I've seen cars here in town with Hawaii and Alaska plates and I wonder why would they ever come here? Lol! Thinking maybe someone in the military.

Ra, hope you're not where that tropical storm is heading!

Hi Jewelies!  Just got in from the beach!  We went out this morning, but started to sprinkle, so we decided to go look fora German restaurant.  lol  We found one had lunch there and it was excellent!  Ate too early though... we're all hungry again.  It's supposed to rain and t'storms tomorrow, but the rest of the week looks good.  At least that's what it was the last time I looked...

cal... A NEW bear!  How exciting!  You were right!  I hope Holly gets along with her ok.  Yesterday when we got here, we had to wait in a long line for a cart to bring our stuff to the condo and I was talking to the couple behind us... they were from MO!!  Today, we went to a convenience store and met a guy from Iowa!  Of course, I had to ask him if he lived near Decorah and if he knew about the eagles, but said no, he didn't live on that side of the state!

Nora... We're in Panama City Beach.  Sure hope that storm hasn't taken a turn toward us and we changed locations for nothing!! lol

rues... I hope we're not getting that storm, too!

obsver... You would have a heart attack if you knew all the snacks I brought!  lol  Cheetos (of course), pringles, popcorn, veggie chips, licorice, 4 kinds of candy, protein bars, cream cheese danish, chicken in a biscuit crackers, two other kinds of chips... I know there's more, but I can't remember!  lol  I don't think we'll starve.  Oh, peanut butter and jelly and bread, too.   ;D  I had to stop and get butter today... I didn't bring any and I have to have butter on my pb&j's.

Going to jump in the shower!  Hi to everyone!  Hope all are well!

Thank you, JP!!  You make me feel better!  Just heard that there is a tropical storm WARNING for the place we were going to stay in Indian Shores!  Guess I'm not so crazy for changing locations after all!  lol

cal... I hope we have a good storm here tomorrow, so I can watch it way up here!  I'm just like you!  lol  We decided to go downstairs for supper. I had nachos that were really good!  Tomorrow we're going to order pizza to be delivered.

Hi dlong!

Fern, Spring of 2015.

Here we are, starting a new week and realizing that Summer is not too far away.  I hope we all have a good Monday.

I have to go to the dentist this afternoon, probably in the rain, and plan some extensive work.  Three of my  old teeth have broken off in the last few weeks.

Speaking of rain, for ra I provide a projection of the rain associated with Storm Colin.

Daily Updates
Waiting and Working as Excitement Grows - UPDATE June 5, 2016
05 June 2016
Print Email
Bill and Randy are on their way to Kentucky to bring our new ambassador bear to her new home. The new bear will ride in a travel cage that is 47 inches long, 30 inches wide, and 32 inches tall. NABC Crew Preparing
NABC crew preparing the pen
It will comfortably hold our new yearling bear who weighed 97 pounds at her health check yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Bear Center staff is working to have a nice clean place for the new bear to settle down for a few days and get to know her new caretakers. Four of the faces are new interns who you may meet on visits to the Bear Center. From left to right, the workers are Kara, Haley, Eva (from England), Bear Curator Sharon Herrell, and Jacqueline. The new bear?s pen will be right next to Lucky and Holly?s bunker den where Holly got to know Lucky through the hole and through the fence. Lucky and Holly will likely come and meet her and get to know her through the fence.

We?re anxious to get to know her, too. So is Cindy Fitzgerald, who wrote the following: ?I am looking forward to meeting this little dark faced beauty. Now we have two little girls to love. Her transition into her new home will be well supported by Sharon and NABC staff. I am hoping that Ted will take an interest in her. And that they will enjoy one another's company. Welcome little one for you are a blessing not a replacement. See you soon.?

Lily Fans are thinking of names that might be better than ?new bear.? She has a dark face, so a name that Bear Center visitors would readily connect to her might be appropriate. Reflecting her blackness are: Cinder (Cindy), Pepper (Peppy), Melanie (means dark), Kerry (Irish / black), Ebony, and Midnight (Middy). Names that might reflect her personality, if they fit, could be: Rose ( Rosie, Flower for the month of June), Julie (Youthful, beautiful, vivacious), Sadie (Princess), Chloe (blossoming). A favorite will emerge one of these days.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning jewelies! it is 64 here. They sure are making a nice place for the new kid. holly and lucky will be right over checking her out. feel sorry for her at first hard to be the new kid but that should not last for long. i remember holly being the new kid. hoping ted will like her. ted likes everybody. can't wait for her to get there and i bet she can't wait either.

Hi JP! Love the picture of fern!  Sounds like you might be making a few trips to the dentist. i have two broke off teeth. had them for awhile. broke my last back molar on top years ago on a red hot. still there and the other one is a molar on the bottom. i am going to have dr. hansen pull the rest of that one on the bottom and put in an implant in november. see how much insurance i have left for that and pay the rest. i already got that crown a few months ago so that ate into my insurance. teeth cost alot of money but worth it. royals lost four straight games really happy they got out of cleveland! saw your marlins won!!

Hi Ra! I saw your thunderstorms said just today. so eating pizza and watching the storm from way up there would be cool! maybe don't stand too close to the window and if that wicked witch of the tornados should come flying in do they have a safety plan there for all their guests?

I watched that cloud for 4:56 and then it strated to break up so I left.

cal, I never heard of that fifth wheel auto.  Obviously it did not catch on as it would have driven the cost of the automobile up due to all the extra mechanism needed to drive it plus you would lose all the trunk space.  Plus, now we have the smaller thin tired spares.

I propose naming the new little girl bear Carmen.  A dark-haired, dark eyed, beautiful Spanish lady.

I watched that cloud for 4:33!

HI JP! That is what it said on that fifth wheel video. a flop..thank you cause i am sure all that stuff you said was why it was a flop. I had just never seen that before or heard of that. must of flopped really fast. i think carmen would be a great name for the new little girl bear! I will tell the bear people you said that.  i so excited for her to get there. hope nothing goes wrong. i will feel better once she is actually on dr. rogers place there and safe.

HI Nora!! :D

Hi Willi!

HI Ra!! what are you doing? i am working on the books right now oh time for scooties dope and i mowed in the pastured again today. it is hot here almost 90. i bet d just loving this weather!!

HI Rues! does your air still stink? Scootie goes to see pete tomorrow morning at 10:40 to get his yearly phenobarb and all the other stuff test. when it comes back on wed pete is going to either increase his medicine now or add a different medicine or change it all together. i don't care just don't want scootie to be like a zombie. he has always been scootie on his medicine. boo boo was barking loudly at him today and would not mind me when he was getting too close to scootie. i got my kitchen sink sprayer deal and let him have it. he backed off. tomorrow getting that whiffle ball bat. then i will really work him over with that if need be. boo boo came in from outside drank a whole bowl of water and went in the living room and threw it up. got to go.
