JP  Check out "Coollief"  by Halyard Health.  It is for pain relief where surgery is not indicated.  I have heard good things about it.

Good wishes to all you Jewlies.

Per the US National Weather Service Kansas City Missouri
About 9:30 AM today!
**UPDATE** The severe weather/tornado drill that was originally scheduled for 1:30pm this afternoon has been postponed until this Thursday, March 17th at 1:30pm, due to the potential for severe weather in northeastern Missouri. This change includes the entire state of Missouri and counties in far northeastern and north-central Kansas.

D the panda cubs are so cute when they chew the bamboo.  Oh they're cute all the time.

RC, Veronica, Gabrielle and Heinrik  :D  Adorable.

Aww JP no wonder you hurt!!  I'm sorry!  Joe has used Tramadol once in a while for his shoulder when it's super bad and it's helped.

47 and raining here and will be for a while.  There has even been some thunder rolling through.  Guess I better get Sparky out.

Hi Jewelies! Yesterday was nice then it rained and rained. Today no rain just damp and chilly. By the weekend rain again and below normal temps! The mountains may have snow flurries! My neighbor mowed yesterday! She is always the first in the spring and last in the fall to mow. She rides her riding lawnmower fast like a race car driver! They do have the nicest looking yard.

Cal, bet that little pork chop loves going on car rides with you! I had him pictured as a much heavier dog! He's just a little thing! If and that's a big if, I were to ever get another dog, it will be a little one. That was so funny about Tim's trunk lid open! Lol! Were there long lines at your voting place? Our primary isn't until May.

Jp, gosh, I hope you feel better soon. Believe or not but the vet had Molly on Tramadol! Wonder if the road trip for the eye shot contributed to your back pain?

Dlong, thanks for the happy pi day! And today is the Ides of March! Great panda pics!

Nora, did you and Sparky go on your walk before the rain?

Obsver, I'll ask my sis tomorrow about Cosco and let you know!

Hi Willi and Jo!

Hi Jewelies!  Yup, it's me again... Bet you thought you had gotten rid of me!   ;)  Spring has left here... just skipped it!  It was mid 80's today and has been in the 80's for the past few days. Hope it cools back down, so we can have a normal spring. Today was my last day to work until NEXT tuesday!  Yay!  My oldest grand has made it to the state chorus championship tournament!  Cool, huh?  She will turn 15 next week and will be getting her driving permit!  Yikes!   :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o

JP... So sorry to hear your back is bad again.  I hope you find some relief.  You're not changing your bed sheets now, are you?  That seems to be hard on a lot of backs.  Maybe try what johoward said... I've heard good things about it, too.  Glad your Miami trip is over for awhile, that ride would hurt, it seems.

rues...  Is Wilson still at your house?  Is Robin all done with the key issue now?

obsver... How did you like Costco?  We don't have Sams or Costco here, so I'm no help.  We all went to the Mexican Restaurant last night and I got all the leftovers!  I won't have to fix supper for days!  lol  We don't get to go on Wednesdays anymore... they changed their tumbling schedule.  Now, we just work it in when we can.

johoward... Good to see you again!

dlong... Thanks for the pics! Love Bao Bao!  Hope your weather settles down.  The weather is always so "iffy" in the spring in your area.

cal... I LOVE all the names you have for Corey Dog!  Did you get your rain this afternoon?  Yesterday it was really stormy here... hail in some places as big as ping pong balls!  Not here, luckily.  Did Tim take another load of junk away today?  Well, I'm not going to have a flip phone anymore.  We got a new server yesterday and my SIL told me to go home and take a pic of my porch (going to get some rock put on the front of it) and send it to him.  I tried and tried and kept getting a stupid error, so when he came over, and he tried and couldn't get it to work either.  He showed me how easy it was on his phone, so I decided to upgrade.  Wish me luck!  lol  I'm going to miss my old Flip.

blschue... Thanks for the pics!  Hope you're relaxing a lot on your vacation.  Do you ever have to drive the camper while you're down there?

Hi Nora and willi and Eaglette!  Everyone else who reads here, too.

A real cute one.  One of Donna's cubs.

johoward, thank you for the suggestion of Cooleif.  There are no doctors here that use the procedure.  It sounds interesting from what I could find about it on the Internet.  I have an appointment with a pain management physician on the 24th.  He eliminated some back pains for me about a year and a half ago.  I am getting some relief in my sleeping with the Tramadol.  That has to be a powerful pain reliever.

All good thoughts for all.  I hope you have a grand "Hump Day".

Rain, Melting, and Flooding in Dens - UPDATE March 15, 2016

Honeys den
Honeys dry den
Honey, Ted, Lucky, and Holly are high and dry in their dens at the Bear Center as rain and melting create rivulets over the frozen soil to form little ponds and often flood dens dug into the soil. Donna lost one of her cubs to such flooding in 2007. June?s den flooded that same year and temporarily forced June to evacuate with Lily, Cal, and Bud. Juliet permanently evacuated her flooded den with Sybil, Sophie, and Sam in the warm spring of 2012, and flooding forced out RC out of her den with Keefer, Billy, and Trax in 2004.

Seeing the water accumulate around Honey?s den today, makes us wonder how bears like Jewel, Colleen, Sophie, Fern, RC, and others are doing with their newborn cubs.

At the Bear Center, the pond has melted more that it had melted a month later last year when Holly had so much fun romping and sliding on the ice as a Lily Fan captured this 9-minute video on April 12, 2015. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIvsOI9CurY&feature=youtu.be

Thank you for all you do.

Yep Rues we got our walk in.  It had rained earlier and stopped, then later and last night it sure came again.  We got a good two inches here.  That wind today is terrible!!!  I had to pick up one of Joe's refills at the pharmacy when I was out and about and the door faces north and it's pretty open to the NW.  I had one heck of a time getting in there!

I hope everyone did ok overnight with the tornadoes and storms that went across (thankfully) south of us.

Took a swing through the new Shopko to check it out.  Better than Alco was, that's for sure.  They'll see me again.  They went in the building Alco had before they closed.

RA!!  It's been a while!  Neat about your oldest grand.

Cal, Joe and I have flip phones, you're not alone.

Oh my gosh that dog shame (ice breaker)!!   :D
