29 a little after noon, but supposed to hit 34.  It's really supposed to start warming up this weekend.  They say 54 Monday and 59 on Tuesday!!

I hope you feel better JP!!

Last year I picked up a '95 Chev Cavalier from a neighborhood guy and that one has the gas tank on the passenger side.  I don't understand when people pulled in on the right side of the pumps for years and it's an American car why they reverse the side of some.  Then you get people facing two directions at the pumps and it's a royal pain if it's busy.

Sophie has little brown spots where the eyebrows would start like Sparky does.  ;)

I could just picture you carrying Corey Dog and your bag up the hill  :D  Your little "fishstick"

Hi Jewelies! It's cold outside! Can't wait for next week when it gets up to 70! Weather guy says don't get use to it because another cold spell is coming. I've got daffodils blooming! Spring has to be coming soon!

Cal, the car is still a work in progress. He said it might be ready today but I'm not holding my breath. Crow is working on ours and Robin's taxes today so I didn't ask about watching one of the movies. Maybe tomorrow.  I didn't know that you could put flea meds on goats! Do horses get fleas? That is so funny about Corey Dog having to be carried up the hill! Lol!

Jp, hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the nice pic of Sophie. She is a pretty bear.

Nora, that irritates me, too, when cars park every which way at the gas pump. I don't know why all vehicles don't have the gas tank on the same side.

Ra, bet you have some spring flowers blooming!

Sue, I'll be checking out your nest!

Hello Jewelies.  Have a wonderful Thursday

JP, I sure hope you feel up to the task of taking on the day soon.  Here is a little video of a guy that I watch on youtube and he is right now with his cat in the Florida Keys.  He shared a really nice video of snorkeling.  Since you are Navy, I am hoping it will bring a smile on your face to watch  http://youtu.be/uU9_LCMRuHs

Rues, I cannot for the life of me understand why your daughter's body shop is taking so long to work on her car.  It is shameful business practice, that is for sure.  I would be so very upset if I were her.  I might consider yanking my unfinished car out of that shop and having it delivered to a different shop; especially if the current shop is a Preferred Shop of her auto insurance carrier.  I would be on the phone with my insurance agent and raising Cain to get that situation fixed NOW.

Nora, have you had a chance to see the DNN nest?  Is that anywhere near you?  I just wonder how big that nest is compared to Mom and Dad Decorah's nest?  I am of the opinion that the DNN Mom is an offspring of Mom and Dad Decorah.  But that is just my wishful thinking  lol.

Cal, you have so many hats to wear.  Veterinary assistant is another hat that you wear well.  Flea meds.  Boy, I bet you really do not want any fleas to infest any one of your animals.  That would be terrible for you to get in your house.  With all your animals sleeping on your bed and furniture, you would be a feasting ground for those fleas.  Might want to start adding extra garlic into your own food so that your blood does not taste so good to those that like to poke you.  In reply to your question of do horses get fleas, here is a link:  https://extension.usu.edu/files/publications/factsheet/flea08.pdf  that explains the unlikeliness of a horse with a flea problem.

Sue, your eagle photos are beautiful.  So nice that you are nearby a nest and can watch the action unfold.  Thank you for sharing your Chippewa Falls Eagle Forum thread.  I went and looked at the thread and found some very interesting posts!

I have a few things to get done around the house myself.  I need to get all my paperwork together to be able to file my taxes.  Luckily, my CPA sends me a form that assists me in getting the information together.  I used to be able to file my own taxes years ago, but I just cannot do that anymore.  I rather use my brain cells for more important things like whether I want dark chocolate or milk chocolate today.   ;D

Jewel.  I post this picture often as I do many others, but I laike it .

Running late again.  I wonder if the Gabapentin is making me sleep more.

The video that Eaglette posted is up at John Pennekamp State Park, in the upper keys, about 65 miles from Key West.  I have been to that park once, about 25 years ago, and don't think that was there, then.

I haven't worked the dolphin puzzle.  I was doing it and hit a wrong key and dumped it back to the beginning.  I  will so it later as I really like stars.

Baseball preseason games are underway, hooray.

Everyone have a great Friday.

I studied that New Orleans house architecture for 15:53 but I had to get to Bourbon Street for a Mimosa.

Wow blschue, orange blossoms!!  Neat carved bear in that Wendy's.

Neat video of the guy snorkeling.  I looked up Key Largo, he's not out there very far compared to Key West, but there was sure some great stuff down there.  Commented it got down to 65, that's perfect for sleeping.  :D

I wonder if goats can get fleas because of the longer hair compared to say horses  ???

Eaglette, I know the Decorah nest is about 23 from here, I have no idea on the DNN one, just that it's north of Decorah somewhere, so maybe about the same or a bit further.  I think we're ALL curious on where it is, but understand them not telling.  :)  Cute Thursday bear greeting.  The sad thing is (about voting responsibly) is that all we can do it pick the lesser of the evils, they're all just as bad.  Listening to the arguing a few need to grow up though.

Oh you lucky Willi, you're right by the water?!!  That eagle on the left looked like it was almost totally adult?  Unless it got dirty on something.  ;)  It sure is pretty around there.  Still the same town you were in?

Love the dog shame with the silly string.  :D

JP, Jewel was posed so nice it's almost like someone put here that way, wonderful shot.  Gabapentin is used for nerve pain, seizures, AND as a treatment for insomnia!!  I bet it IS making you sleepy.

Noon and 32, but wind is cold and it's cloudy.  Joe's rehab is still going real well and still likes it.  Ok of to check out New Orleans.......

HI nora! Good joe's rehab going well and he likes it. I am sure his shoulder hurts him and he will be happy to get that over with and start his rehab for that next.

Hi Jewelies! Wahoo, Robin got her car back this afternoon! What an ordeal. Hope we don't have to go through that ever again.

Cal, did you get your trees? I really like the eastern red cedar. Did you get the broken bench duct taped back together? Last night my PBS channel was back in membership drive mode! Seems like they just had one!

Jp, I like that pic of Jewel!

Hi Nora, Eaglette, Blschue and Willi! Nice pics, Willi! Love Holly's pic!

A Major Bout - UPDATE March 4, 2016

Common RedpollBig action in this 9-minute bout of wild wrestling with Lucky?s mouth way open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI7HmTZSd58. But now the camera is discombobulated by Holly. And you can watch her at work in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRYvdPnIBLU.

A Lily Fan asked if Holly and Lucky huddle closer when temperatures are warmer or colder. Darn, I haven?t kept track. Actually, they spend most of their time in separate beds. I would guess that they hunker down with their heads tucked under their chests when it is really cold, like far below zero, so their muzzles don?t get cold and they can retain heat by re-breathing what they exhale into the straw. We?ll have to notice. It pays to have many eyes and many minds thinking of questions.

Another question that came up today is if Florida bears grow the thick under fur that Ely bears grow in fall for winter and then scratch away in spring. I immediately sent an email to a Florida Lily Fan who might know.

I suspect most of you have seen this video of animal genius, but it is so interesting that I wanted to share it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c36UNSoJenI. When a person sees something so surprising, they can?t help but wonder if there was some training involved. Is this possible? I wanted to believe it and wished I had the whole story?or maybe they?re telling us the whole story.

Thank you for all you do.
