Hi Jewelies!  Nice day here, but I stayed in most of the day.  Getting some of my chores done since I won't be home tomorrow.  We're leaving around 9am and they give the awards out at around 4pm.  The Clemson game starts at 3:30, so we'll be able to listen to most of it on the radio.  The oldest grand's boyfriend is sick,so not sure if he's going yet or not.  The youngest grand and her boyfriend are going!  It will be the first time I've spent any time with him, so I'll have to behave... again.   ::)

Hi Nora!  I like hearing about your walks with Sparky.  I feel like I know your neighborhood now.  How's Joe doing?  Guess it's time for you to be getting snow, isn't it?  I know when I was growing up in MI, we almost always had snow by Thanksgiving.

Hi cal!  Short visit for Polly!  I like Babe's new bed!  Nice and big!  They're decorating our town for Christmas already.  The town is in the middle of a big redo, so it's a mess.  They're changing the sidewalks, putting in a median with plants, changing the lanes of traffic to one lane mostly, and turning lanes at the corners.  They're burying the electric lines, and putting in old fashioned light poles.  When it's all done, it will be pretty. They're encouraging all the businesses to fix up the storefronts, too.  They're hoping to have it done by the end of the year.

JP... How's your eye doing?

obsver... Yup, leave it to me to find the new snacks!  lol  Yesterday I got some pumpkin spice English muffins.  I have some cinnamon sugar butter (Land O Lakes) that I put on one and it was real good.  Not too pumpkin-y.   :) Did it snow today there? Is your "back East" daughter coming next week?

rues... Is it snowing there, too?  Are you cooking Thanksgiving dinner?  We still don't know what we're doing for dinner with the family.  My daughter and I are voting to eat out.  lol

dlong... What are you doing for Thanksgiving?  Do you have to cook?  Hope you've been feeling good!

Hope all are well and have a nice evening!  Hi everyone!

Nice dog bed, Cal! Is it big enough for you to use if Babe doesn't like it? :D I wasn't happy about the polar bear and that collar. Hope they can get it off him.  Glad that Polly was able to come for a little visit. Just got caught up with the puzzles. Was that really a pic of Teri in that balloon?  :o No way would I ever go up in one of those!

Nora, hope you don't get too much snow! Heard on the news today that one the ski resorts in our eastern mountains is making snow today and expecting a real snow accumulation this weekend. They expect to open up for business on Monday to start their season just in time for the holiday. I hate any amount of snow!

Jp, Guy looks so serious in that pic! Hope you had a nice day and have a nice weekend!

Obsver, thank you for the wind and no thank you for the snow! :D We get our hair cut Tuesday!

Ra, safe trip tomorrow and good luck to the cheerleaders! Yep, I'm fixing turkey day dinner! If I didn't do it, we would starve! :D I got the pumpkin spice English muffins a week or so ago. Yummy! I also got the pumpkin bagels. Liked them, too! Your downtown will look so nice when it's finished! My town put up decorations this week. The same ugly angels year after year. My sister said if she were ever to win the lottery, the first thing she would do would be to buy the city new decorations! :D

Brought Wilson and Tela home with us this afternoon. Wilson loves it here and has spent most of the afternoon on the screen porch. Tela is scared to death and is hiding under the bed. I brought her litter box, her food bowl, toys and her favorite blanket here. Hoping that will make her feel more at home. The dogs quickly accepted her and couldn't care less that she is here! It may be a long weekend for the poor little thing. On the hand, Gayla's tribute weekend has really grown. Besides her local friends, there are friends coming from all over the country...Indiana, IL,TN, NY, Maryland, KY and PA. I know I left someone out. The gang also got Gayla's favorite local band to come and perform. Robin is expecting 8 people to stay with her. She only has one bed so there will be lots of bodies sleeping on the floor!  :D Think I'll go drag Tela out from under the bed and see if she'll play or something. :-\

I found this link in DE2015... You can click on Decorah and see what the town looks like right now.  It looks like a Christmas card.  Snow on the ground, pretty since it's there and not here.  lol

Big Harry.

I wish all a fine Saturday and hope the storm passing through the  country misses most of you.  A lot of snow in this storm.

Lucky, Holly, Shadow?s Clan, New Items -UPDATE November 20, 2015

Shadow - 7/27/15
Shadow - 7/27/15
A Lily Fan captured this video (4 minutes, 17 seconds) of the two den-mates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EZXGB7cvf8&feature=em-subs_digest-g. Holly was arranging her bed near the entrance until she decided to initiate a couple minutes of play with Lucky. Then she settled down.

We nearly completed the update of Shadow?s Clan for 2015. 225 cubs were born into 28-year-old Shadow?s clan since January 1, 1995. Survival through the first year was 93.7%, not counting Hazel?s 3 cubs that were orphaned in late June of 2007. These cubs likely had access to supplemental food. By comparison, survival was only 75% among 181 non-fed cubs in my old study from 1970 to 1980 (Page 53 of my monograph Effects of food supply and kinship on social behavior, movements, and population dynamics of black bears in northeastern Minnesota

In Shadow?s Clan, the deaths of 14 cubs (after excluding the 3 orphans) were from unknown causes (5), hunters illegally shooting them (3), vehicles (2), drowning in a flooded den (1), killed by a bear (1), killed by a coyote (?) (1), and sarcocystosis (1).

We?ll post the updated chart of Shadow?s Clan on bearstudy.org as soon as we get one more detail.

In the Bear Center?s web store, there are 142 new Christmas Items at http://www.bear.org/website/gift-shop-pages/product/listing/18-new-items.html. These include clothing, household items, magnets, ornaments, coffee, figurines, jewelry, books, pillows, rugs, fishing lures, towels, mugs, bowls, signs, mouse pads, greeting cards, postcards, shakers, etc.

I?m told the Four Bears Calendars will arrive the second or third week of December. Waiting for more information on price and shipping.

Thank you for all you do.

Good morning Jewelies! What a difference a day makes! All that worrying about Tela was for nothing! She acts like she has always lived here! She stayed in the bedroom yesterday with all her stuff then last night she finally started to relax and we played. By bedtime she was running all over the house! She really likes the basement. Crow is down there now playing with her. She keeps putting toys in his shoes! He gets a big kick out of that! And she went out the doggy door and was hanging out on the porch for awhile this morning. She can go out the door but for some reason she can't figure out how to come in!

Cal, all my town has for decorations are those ugly angels hanging on every other telephone pole and a a huge fake $20,000 Christmas tree at Jackson Park. The city did decorate the new gazebo with garland at the little neighborhood park near me. Parkersburg's City Park has a Festival of Lights that you drive thru. Remember last year we went for a carriage ride thru the lights in the park. It was so pretty. I hope we do that again this year. Helps you get into the holiday mood!  Today is my mom's 100th birthday! :o    Glad the contract passed! Now you won't have to worry! Hope they got everything they wanted! Hope that Babe has a good day. It's supposed to get very cold tonight and rain turn to a little snow. It's supposed to be in the 60's here, too, on Thanksgiving day!  Crow took  2 air mattresses to Robin's yesterday. He hasn't used them in years so he hopes they hold air! I'm watching Hyacinth right now! She and Liz are going to work at the  Charity shop! Daddy has a lady friend in his bedroom!  :D

Jp, what a cute kitty in the greeting!

Ra, thanks for the link to Decorah! Brrrr!

Bbl!

AAAARG! The snow has arrived!!! Fine, wet, windy snow!! Jules (Julie) is fascinated--she's glued to the front room window. Ready or not, here it is.Rues, put the snow shovel on the porch, and maybe you won't get any. Checked the calendar, found out I hadn't had a haircut since the last of August, and now I can't get in until Tues., Dec. 1. Oh, it's awful! I can hear the rustle rustle of it growing, going into hyper warp like the starship Enterprise! Is anyone here too young to remember the original Star Trek? Cal, that dog bed is awesome! Rues is right--you COULD sleep there if you get crowded out!  Big Tony is on my lap while I'm trying to type. Cats are so happy if they are being a nuisance! Ra, do you have any pic. of your remodel project? Hi, jp, bischue, Willi, deb, neva, pat, chippy. Dlong, hope you are feeling good. I'm reading Lisa Scottoline's newest. I'll bet you would like her. I just finished Jan Karon's (the mitford series) I'll start on the new Lee Childs one next. We have a great library!  Ra, you might like those authors, too.

We got about 4 inches of the wet stuff, but there were areas that got up to 12, we got lucky.

Hi Nora! Good looks like you and Joe (remember him?) lucked out! wow 12 inches!!
How could I forget, he's a male with some health issues at the moment.  We won't go there right now.

Well I the porch and down the small sidewalk to the main one, a neighbor the main  sidewalk, and another neighbor the driveway.  First snow of this winter taken care of  :D

P.S.  Sorry, but I know how he was when he had an arthroscopy on his knee some time ago and I know how he is right now and he hasn't even had the open heart surgery or rotator cuff repair yet, I can just imagine.  What IS it with so many guys.  Grow up!!

With all the snow that is coming down around the country I thought this to be an  appropriate greeting.

And here is Braveheart peeking out of her den, also a snowy picture.

I had a bad night.  Couldn't seem to relax and go to sleep.  I plan to have a lazy day.  Some upsets in football but mostly the top teams won.  I did not pay much attention to it as I was working on a new music project.  It seems I start new ones before I finish the one I have been working on.  That must be some sign of a mental problem.

Those of you who have to clear snow have my sympathy.  My last activity as I  was moving out of Rochester, NY, was having to clear snow so the moving van could get in the driveway.

I want you all to have the best of Sundays.
