Hello Everyone! thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my son Tommy. He went back to Boston this week to have his stitches out. He is walking so much better, he is still having some headaches but hoping that will get better for him soon also. Hope you all are doing good. I have been so busy helping out with the kids. Hope to have more time soon to visit with you all. Love, Deb

Good morning, Jewelies!  Had a hard time getting on here again... I had to type in raptorresource.org instead of hitting my auto button.  Wonder why...  Somehow, I missed reading some of the most recent posts here.   Got cold here lat night, even a little frost.  Guess it's time, but it doesn't seem like it!  lol

Deb... Glad Tommy's doing better!

cal...  I hope Babe has a better day today.  Who's KState playing today?  Clemson is at Syracuse at 3:30.  The wind here finally died down.  Nice and sunny here today, no wind at all.  Yesterday I wanted to rake leaves, but it would be a losing battle with the wind.  lol  The update had some nice pics today.  I like to look at pics of snow... as long as they're not taken here!  lol   I can't imagine shooting an animal let alone all those innocent people in Paris!  What a shame that there are people in the world like that...

rues... My crape myrtle might come back a little from the stump, but it won't ever look good since it doesn't get sun, so I'll keep cutting it down.  What color are the flowers on yours?  I have several different colors, but the only ones that bloom are the ones that get some sun.  I still have a white one and a dark coral one.  Hope Tela doesn't have to spend the whole weekend in the bedroom!  So sad about Gayla.  I usually don't get the pecans, the squirrels do.  I got a bag of them one year, but it's such a hassle to crack them!  I'm lazy and would rather just buy them at the store!    :)

JP... That was an awesome pic of the water spout!  Cool looking.  When do you have to go back to Miami for your shot?

dlong... I'm with you on the Christmas music!!  I heard a Christmas song this week, too... switched the station!  I like to hear it a couple of weeks before Christmas, but no sooner.  Those sun bears have unusual faces.  I can't decide what their faces remind me of... some other animal.  Maybe possums with that pointy nose...  Thanks for all the pics!

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday!  BBL... if I can!

Cute pic of Sydney, cal!  How old is she?  I know... I hate the cheer competition "look"!  Poufy hair, the smokey eyes, and the BOWS!!  My grand wears the bows to all the games and competition, too.  The youngest grand has worn them to SCHOOL!!  My daughter and I hate them!  lol  They love them.  I'm glad I didn't have to go today... another 3 hour trip there, then 3 hours back.  I hate to ride.   :)

cal... Remember, soccer is called football in Europe.  So confusing for us "normal" people that call soccer soccer and football football.  lol

Possibly bah humbug here, I DO like Christmas music, but AFTER Thanksgiving.  ;)

Those water spouts are fascinating.

I think I saw a few minutes of one of those races on TV on time a long time ago.  With those speeds and other boats I imagine is flip IS pretty bad for the people.

Love those pandas and sun bears.

I wonder if the Florida Keyes get so many water spouts with the two big bodies of water meeting down there or something?  As I said, fascinating.

Rues, glad the leak is now all fixed.  At least you guys got it narrowed down to where it was coming from, good job.  Hate to see people die a horrible death in their 30's  :'(

Good thoughts for you too JP  :)

I'm glad things are going well for Tommy after his surgery Deb!

Hi RA

I saw a video of Obama last night and it sounds like he's all set to go help France.  Why is it always the US that helps countries, don't any of them any anyone else to help?

This is a nice picture of Faith.

I was in a good mood when I got up this morning.  Then it took me over half an hour to get into this forum.  I had been signed in "forever" but obviously that did not occur.  Then it would not recognize my password so I had to change it.  I realize that others are having problems, too, but I am now a GOM.  That stands for "Grumpier Older Man" because I am older than the last time I was a GOM.

Some interesting upsets in football.  I split about 50-50 on favorite winners/losers. Should be some interesting pro games today.

May all of you have a Sunday worth remembering for all the good things.

Wildlife Out the Window - UPDATE November 14, 2015

Chickadee
Chickadee
On this day of writing, the entertainment was out the window. A gray jay was busy all day filling its beak with suet and flying off to glue it to branches with its special saliva for winter. Gray jays are noted for their willingness to tame down and sit on a hand, but I?ve never seen that here. While some of the chickadees and red-breasted nuthatches have done that, gray jays have remained wary.

Red Squirrel
Red Squirrel
Black-capped chickadees were busy at the piles of sunflower seed hearts, flying off with one or two seeds to a branch where they hold a seed tight to a branch with a foot as they peck tiny pieces from it.

A red squirrel that let me look over its shoulder showed me that they don?t always grab just one sunflower seed at a time, they can grab handfuls.

Thank you again for GiveMN. I?ve heard stories of last minute donations, difficulties donating, and the efforts some made. Many thanks. We?ll appreciate every dollar and spend them frugally to further bear education. I?ve never experienced anything like Lily Fans?all started by one young mother and her lone cub.

Thank you for all you do.
