Gee, cal, after I spent 3:36 cleaning around those braces you took them off.  I could have saved all that work.

Cal, I didn't go to Woodstock, but did go to Altamont and saw the Stones and Santana and a bunch of others and where people were killed. Not a Woodstock atmosphere.

Altamont was a few months after Woodstock. It turned out to be the Anti Woodstock.  The Stones set it all up at the end of their US tour. It was supposed to be another Woodstock except the Stones hired the Hell's Angels as security.  I was in college and went with 4 or 5 of my friends.

Hi Jewelies!  Another cloudy day, but not much rain.  My driveway is a mess with all the wet leaves.

cal... Very cool that Jim's dad gets to to DC with the other vets!  Such an honor.  I'm glad your neighbor finally got her goat's head out of the fence.  If she was your kid, she would have got that BAM!  Right?  lol

Nora... Yes, that's the same Columbia that was flooded.  I think there's still a lot of cleanup going on, some people lost everything.  The water came in very fast, before some of them could get their important stuff off.  The pics reminded me of New Orleans after Katrina... people on their roofs waiting to be rescued.  Sad.  We were down there last Saturday, but in a different part of the city.  I can't imagine living in a big city... the traffic was horrendous!!  Hope Joe is feeling better tonight!

willi... I had never heard of Altamont before.  Very interesting reading about it...  I'm glad you survived it!!   :o

dlong... Your pics of all kinds amaze me!  They're always so nice and clear!

Just saw the college football playoff top 4 rankings... Clemson is NUMBER ONE!!  LSU is 2nd, Ohio State is 3rd, Bama is 4th.  Exciting to see this!  Of course, as the season finishes, these numbers can change, but sure looks good to this old diehard Clemson fan!

Wow, Cal, just saw half a million people in KC on the news! :o What a traffic mess! Looks like your niece and girls were having fun there! What an honor for your father in law to go to DC! Last year a veteran from here was invited to go. Local news interviewed him before and after his trip. He was so thrilled and happy! Made me cry.   That Effie needs a BAM, that's for sure. Poor little goats.  I needed a pair of googles today! :D I bought a painter sprayer to finish staining the privacy fence we replaced in the summer. I used a roller and brush on the outside of the fence back in July, I think. Took me hours to paint 8 fence panels so I decided I wasn't working that long on the inside sections. The sprayer was amazing. I was finished in 2 hours. I had paint spray all over me, stuck in my hair and all over my glasses! Crow said I needed goggles and a hat next time I use the sprayer! Took a shower but I still have paint on me!

Nora, all the pumpkins were lit with strings of lights. Wouldn't want that electric bill! Hope Joe is doing better. Hi Sparky!

Ra, congrats on your team being number one! Mountaineers lost real bad last Thursday! Crow was screaming bloody murder at the coach! Going to all these competitions is good experience  for the cheer team, I'd think. Glad you aren't in the flood zone! Rain is coming here Friday but until then we are still looking at near 80 temps!

Willi, I remember Altamont! By then I had dropped out of college and was working at the phone company and newly engaged! :D I hated the Grateful Dead back then and now my daughter is one of their biggest fans! ::)

Dlong, glad you didn't venture out to see the parade! Safer to watch it all on tv! Ra is right...your pics are so clear! I'm confused about KC. Are the pics in Kansas or Missouri? Does KC straddle state lines? I must have missed that geography class in school! :D

Jp, Sharon is one shiny bear! Hope you had a great day! :)

Hi rues!  I can't imagine using a sprayer to paint!  I'd be coated from head to toe!  Next time, you need to use your googles!   ;D

Thanks! I swiped that avatar from someplace that I can't remember.

Rues people get confused about Kansas City all the time. Here's a map for you. I have an awful time trying to use Paint so my lines always look stupid. Anyway, State Line Rd is marked in red in the lower center of the map. On the left is Kansas City in Kansas and on the right is Kansas City in Missouri. To the north you will see a place called North Kansas City and that's it's own little town not belonging to either Kansas City. I used to live there. And anything north of the Missouri River is referred to as Kansas City, North if it's part of Kansas City or just the Northland for everything else. If you are from here and you live north you always say you live "north of the river". That covers about everything. I made a little red sort of smear up by Pleasant Valley. That's where I live. I'm right on the line of Pleasant Valley and Liberty but I'm in the city limits of Liberty. The folks behind me are in Pleasant Valley. We have a lot of that going on around this area.

One of my friends was lucky enough to get a good spot to stand for the parade. Those horses are so beautiful!

Here's a picture of Mei Huan that was posted on their Facebook today. She is so cute!

Bei Bei's latest picture. He weighs 9.5 lbs now.

I hope you all have a restful night.  ;)

I know you guys probably aren't into rap music but Tech N9ne is from Kansas City and he released this music yesterday. It's called KCMO Anthem. It has no bad words!

Lucky playing in the pond.

That was quite a large get together for the Royals.  What was it, 30 years since they last won the World Series?  So glad for them and all their fans.

All of you have my heartfelt wishes for the best of days.  I am trying to have one.

Naming the Cub - UPDATE November 3, 2015

Beaver Lodge
Beaver Lodge - 11/2/15
Lily Fans came up with lots of F-names, even FR-names, but seem to have settled on all three being FRAN-names. Could be confusing, so we?ll have to be careful. The two males will likely disperse at some point leaving us just with Frannie. If we use two syllables for each name, we?ll be alright?Frankie, Francis, and Frannie. At least it will be easy to remember that they were all siblings.

A Lily Fan saw my confusion and is updating the Family Tree to the present and also making a list in excel that is easy to see all the names in alphabetical order to make it easy to remember bears we don?t hear of much. Lily Fans put together a lot of nice F-names to pick from in the future. Lily Fans seemed to come together around the patron saint of animals whose Fran-name fit right in for this litter?St. Francis of Assisi.

Tomorrow is ?Live at the NABC? at 1 PM with Scott Edgett, Judy Thon, and a special guest they will announce.  http://www.bear.org/website/live-cameras/live-cameras/ptz-pond-cam-live.html

Lily Fans noticed Holly busy doing a half hour of house-keeping around noon today. I hope her spurts of energy don?t get her kicked out by Lucky who is more sleepy. Plans are to get a Den Cam in there soon.

Beaver seen on trail cam
Beaver seen on trail cam - couple weeks ago
Honey has not picked a den yet. We?re still waiting for her to decide?likely the Window Den or the Haven. She?s been seen almost daily on the nice new PTZ Cam. Feedback from the Mods is that it has a faster response time and is more fun to run. They like the vibrant colors and the sharpness, too.

Ted is in the Chalet looking a bit lethargic.

Yesterday, Donna and I checked a beaver lodge. They have it all mudded up for winter but not much of a food cache yet. Maybe they have more work to do. Not sure how many beavers are using it. We caught one on a trail cam a couple weeks ago and saw 2 a couple months ago. If it?s a male and female, they give birth in late April or May. Just thinking.

GiveMN is in 9 days. https://givemn.org/organization/bears

Thank you for all you do.
