Good morning jewelies! it is 43 here. that ice has to be really thick to drive over it and take the short cut. i would be like dr. rogers and wait for others to do that first. Holly is such a help with her lens.

Hi JP! Great picture of Lily! Yes the chiefs won again..can you believe it..after such a poor start 0-5 sports guys said they will have to win every game and so far they have!! playing non winning teams here on out..so who knows..i see your dullphins play tonight against giants ely..it is till kinda raining here rained last night..suppose to move out this morning sometimes..good get out..cool good day sign..

Hi Rues! i never rode any of my horses if too hot.if they are sweaty i considered that too hot too ride. i know the keeping up too you missed part of..pretty funny..i get mad at directv raising their price and one more time i was thinking of switching to our phone com. get our internet and phone there and cable too like you but if that goes out lose everything but also if it rains will not have looking for sat signal stuff. i just loved mary poppins. missed some of it falling asleep but woke back up..dick van dyke so talented too. I would love to see mr magoos christmas carol..i am going to have to buy it..babe woke up three times i don't think i am going to able to go to ca's for christmas eve. can't leave her here all alone all evening.i wore my shorts yesterday. i have never taken a buggy ride..ride the horse itself. i was thinking i need to mow the dogs yard but mice chewed up my new mower and all the rain and water..miserable weather for sure.

I got to go Hi to all you guys!

Good morning, Jewelies. Warm & rainy here today. Sure don't want the buds on trees, etc. coming out too soon, so it really does need to get colder. Don't want snow & ice, though. I know, not too hot, not too cold, but just right. Reminds me of a story I know. lol

Dlong, those videos of the pandas just melt my & mr. 0's hearts! So, so sweet & adorable!!!!!!!  Your family is cute, and you are pretty darn cute, too!!  I'm reading Patrick Taylor's book An Irish Doctor in Love and At Sea. I would recommend this series to all Jewelies, but start with the 1st one, An Irish Country Doctor. He has written 11 of them.

Hi, jp, cal, rues, ra, bischue, Willi, nora, neva, deb, chippy, pat. Going to go work on organizing a closet and get back to my book. orrrrr, maybe I'll just sit here and read.

Hi everyone.  It finally quit raining and the sun has been out off and on.  We got 2 1/2 inches.  I'm watching the snow/mix that is circling through MN and down.  SO far so good, tomorrow will be a LaCrosse trip...

DEC. 14th MORNING: Joe called around 5:30 and again around 6:00 AM with questions. Sounded very perky. He called again about 9:00 and said to just stay home today and save a trip, he's probably going home tomorrow.

Seems awfully fast to me, but they must know what they're doing, they're really good up there.

Oh, how is Sparky.  He has spent every evening playing Super Watchdog and barks and barks AND barks.  Has been driving me crazy.  Usually end up having to put the shock collar on him (don't worry, he doesn't get shocked, if he's too bad on time of a short vibration works, many times just putting the collar on works).  Anyway last night I had the collar plugged in and he started in.  After two hours I couldn't stand it anymore and actually yelled at him since nothing else was working anyway.  He blew it and I really verbally laid into him and he was quiet after that.  I felt SO bad later, I was going to bed and his food balls were still up on the counter and not where he could have reached them.  He has two, the one he gets when we eat supper and the other one he picks at off an on later on and the next day.  I forgot to give them to him.  No wonder he was barking, I thought he was just doing what he's been doing since Joe was gone.  :'(  (Not that he's starving, he was eating right before I filled them up.)

More later, I have to shift into high gear around here.

Hi, Nora,

Glad to hear Joe is doing well.  I'm sure he'll be glad to get home.  Take care.

Hi Cal, a buggy ride is so much fun. The clicking noise from the hooves and the buggy movement is so relaxing. The only drawback, lol, is the occasional whiff of odor coming from the poop bag! The horses owner told us that the  horses were work horses.  That they were used to pulling carriages and the sweating was nothing to worry about. I hope he knows what he is talking about. :-\    How far away is CA's house? Is it close enough that you could go for a little while? I hate that you might miss the get together. Maybe, if you can't go, CA will come visit you over the holidays.

Jp, everything is back to normal now that we have your morning greeting and bear pic! Lily looks like she is smiling at us! Did you get all wet in the rain storm?

Obsver, I know that story, too! Lol! Are your temps supposed to be colder by the weekend like ours?

Nora, hope Joe gets to come home tomorrow and that the snow stays away. I'm pretty sure that everyone of us dog owners has shouted at our non stop barking dog! At my house, shouting isn't enough though! It takes getting the water spray bottle out of the cabinet to stop the barking! :D Have a safe trip tomorrow.

Hi Willi and Walton!

Hi Blschue! My younger sister went to the Christmas Story house in Cleveland, Ohio, a week ago Saturday! They toured the house and even had their pics taken touching the leg lamp! My sis got a pic of some kid hiding in the kitchen cabinet just like Randy did in the movie! Earlier in the day there was the annual 5k race that the proceeds go to maintaining the house. A lot of the runners wore movie inspired constumes...like pink bunny suits and leg lamp shades! There is also the Christmas Story museum across the street. My sis said she would definitely go back and tour the house again! :D You'd never get me on ice with deep water under it, no matter how thick the ice was! Couldn't imagine driving on it!!  Were you able to find your grandson a computer?

Cal, taking Babe with you is an idea. You could keep an eye on her and still have time to visit. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the weather cooperates!  My sis has mice in her house, in the walls! They have been there for years! Every once in awhile one of her cats catch one but that's a rarity. My sis takes the caught one outside and I'm pretty sure the mouse runs back inside! :D

Hi Jewelies!  Boy, you guys have been yacky-doodles today!  I love it!  It's been a rainy day here, and not as warm, but still not like winter should be.  I got caught in a downpour today... I forgot to take my rain jacket and had my hands full, so couldn't use an umbrella.  My hair looks pretty stupid now!  lol   I'm done with making muffins, and last night I got almost all my presents wrapped, nothing on tv, so I locked myself in the back bedroom and did the wrapping and organized the room a little.  At this time of year, it gets to be a "catch all".  Now, it's on to cookies... maybe do a batch every night.

blschue... When I was growing up in MI, our lake would freeze, then all the shanties would go out, and yes, little villages.  Every spring, seemed like someone would wait too long and their shanty would go through the ice.  I wonder how many are still on the bottom of the lake.  Houghton Lake isn't real deep though, only about 30 feet at the deepest place.  We used to drive our cars out on the ice and do donuts!  lol  Stupid kids!  lol  I also liked to take walks on the ice when the sky was clear and the moon and stars were shining.  If I fell through a crack, nobody would have known where to look for me!   :o  Glad they were able to rescue the guys that got stranded, but sure was an expensive rescue, wasn't it?  All those different departments!!

rues... I'm glad you had fun on your buggy ride.  Did they have lots and lots of lights?  You don't have to worry about sweating horses... wouldn't you sweat, too, if you were pulling a buggy with people in it? lol  I know I would!!  lol   One of my customers has a leg lamp!  I've never seen the movie, so didn't really know what it was supposed to be!  lol  I don't watch movies much at all.  Glad you got your family graves decorated!  I bet they look so pretty!  I can't believe the grass is growing again there!  No way am I mowing in December!  Well, unless it really needs it...  lol  I made goulash for the girls Saturday, then had leftovers for lunch on Sunday.  They went to the Nutcracker at Clemson yesterday with their other Grandmother.

cal... You sure are catching a lot of mice!!  lol  Must be a really big family of them!  Hmmm... was that Corey at your house yesterday??  With all the rain we had here this fall, the girls were wishing they could borrow my zebra boots...  Tough luck, girls.  lol  Yesterday I ordered them both a pair of orange rain boots.  They're real cute... orange, heels, straps with rhinestones... so they will be a little different than the usual rain boots.  That will be their present from Santa.  This will be the first year that the youngest grand doesn't believe in Santa.  lol  I'll give them a bag of candy from Santa, too.  My daughter, too, and yes, my SIL, too.  If it's not too cold, that's a good idea to take Babe in your car.  CA might let you bring her in the house, too...   "Education pays off"  lol  lol  !!  Uh, no, on the humping because I'm happy to eat!  lol  lol

dlong... Thanks for showing us your family!  I like your hair, too.  Looks nice!  Your Lara looks a lot like my daughter's sister-in-law!  If I saw her on the street, I'd say "Hi, Katie!"  lol   Had to laugh at your comment about the "pretty little sailors"!  lol  Thanks for the videos of Bei!  He's such a cutie!!

Nora... I can't believe Joe may be coming home tomorrow!  I hope the snow holds off until you get home.  He must be healing fast!!  Will Sparky bark a lot after Joe comes home, or is just he's the man of the house right now?   ;)

obsver... Did you see on the news that the cherry blossoms in DC are blooming now?  I wonder if they will bloom again in the spring...  I have 3 camellia bushes in front of my house that usually bloom at the end of January, but they're blooming now.  Big, pretty, double red blooms... they look like roses.  My forsythia bushes have a few flowers on them, too.  Crazy weather!

Hi Walton!  Good to see you!

Oh, my!  Just saw something new in Japan on the news... A brand new suspension pedestrian bridge!  Do you think I'll be on it in my lifetime??  NOPE!!  Not a chance in h*ll!!  lol   :o  :o  :o

willi... Good luck with your move tomorrow!  Are you ready?  I hope you love your new house!  See you when you can get back here...

JP... Did you notice in your pic of Lily today that it looks like she doesn't have any teeth?  Done they have big canines like a dog?  I'm not sure now...

Hope everyone has a good evening!  Hi to all!

Sparky is REALLY into routine.  As long as the routine is the same he's a good kid.  Our routine is different.  Even if I eat the regular time, I'm not eating supper at the table (hate eating at the table) because I've been taking advantage of not having too and eating in here.  That's different.  Joe's not here.  With coming and going the walk schedule is different.  He's enough into times and routines if I'm making supper and something doesn't need stirring or messing with for a while I've been known to pop on-line and check a horse forum to see if the gal has done her evening post.  That's a no-no, I'm supposed to be in the kitchen then.  When Joe could take Sparky walking we sort of had our times he got walked.  I always did after supper.  One night Joe knew I had a headache and volunteered.  They got back and off and on for an hour that dog was impossible.  Finally Joe said "you didn't take him out"  I said "no you did".  He said "right, YOU didn't and you always do."  I took him part way up the block and back and then he was just fine.  I give up.  CAL I did NOT threaten him with the shock collar  ;) and I thought he was barking at nothing like he's been doing in the evening.  Things will settle down.

WILLI's MOVING?  I need to check her posts tonight, I've been getting behind lately.

Sounds like everyone has stuff going.  Rues or whoever took the carriage ride, how neat!!!  Maybe the horses had some extra hair with winter sort of upon us.  A little sweat never hurts them.  Just like people sweat with too many layers on.  :)  I'm sure he takes good care of them.

This picture is the front of our house. We don't have the lamp.. it is a window covering and with a light behind it, it looks like the lamp
Whew I thought you had one of those for a minute  :D
