Back from the vet, and boy, was the fog thick! Benjaman's leg has healed, and he got his distemper & rabies shots. Hey, rues! Do you have this awful fog, too? Ra, sounds like you have been really busy with the baking & cleaning!

Hi Jewelies!  :)

Sorry I've been gone so long. I've been reading your posts every day and love keeping up with what's going on in your lives. That fog this morning was really thick. I like fog as long as I don't have to drive in it. It makes things so quiet.

I too, was glad to hear the good news about Jimmy Carter. He and his wife have been doing so much good in the world for so long!

I have been super busy and not feeling very super. Trying to get my house ready for Christmas and the kids' visits. Molly will be here from the 9th through the 13th. David will be here Saturday. My little tree is sitting on it's table with just lights on it. The German Shepherd Rescue has 7 puppies from a mom they rescued and we have been interviewing people like crazy! Everyone wants the puppies! Our adoption process is VERY thorough and takes awhile. I have been on the phone since 10:00 this morning and just now got finished.

Here are 6 of the puppies.

Bei Bei was getting dragged around by his mom. She just grabs him anywhere if she wants to move him!  ;D

This is a video of Bei Bei and his mom playing a little and then he manages to get himself back to his den by himself for a nap. Sometimes he gets stuck up against a wall. He is so funny! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2vGT9qCfVE&list=TLH84fALGeONUwNzEyMjAxNQ

Mei Huan and Mei Lun were napping. I have to laugh when I see them draped over a log. So cute!

Hi to damp, TV-less, computer-less JP, Cal, Rues, Obsver, Ra, Blschue, Willi, Deb, Chippy, Pat, Neva, Nora and all who visit here. Gotta get back to making some calls. Enjoy your day everyone!  :)

Hi Jewelies!  Got up to almost 70o today.  Nice.  I got some chocolate covered potato chips and a little loaf of pumpkin ribbon bread from one of my customers.  Yum!  Tuesday and Thursday this week I have chorus concerts to go to... at the girls' schools.  They sure do keep me busy!  lol  I started putting a little Christmas stuff out... not ready for the tree yet though.  I wonder what Handsome will think of the tree this year...

dlong... Good to see you!  Love the puppies!  A black German shepherd?  Will it stay that color?  And, poor little Bei Bei is so close to walking!  He's so cute!  And the pic of mama carrying him by his poor little tail!  So cute!  Are you enjoying your work with the adoption place?  You're going to have a busy month!!

cal... Glad Babe had a good day today!  Today we found out that Clemson's QB is going to NYC! He's one of the three Heisman candidates.   Fingers are crossed that he'll get it!  That would be so cool!  Wow!  Sydney's team won the Nationals!!  I see good things in her future with cheerleading!

obsver... How do you get your outside cats in a carrier to take them to the vet?  It's a big, big deal getting my cats in one!  I have to trick Lily... calmly walk in and close the bedroom door, so she can't hide under the bed, then the fun starts!  One time she went up on top of the cabinets in the kitchen!!

JP... Did you get your TV back on today?  Sure hope so!  I don't blame you for being a GOM lately... no computer, no TV, rain every day... geez.  I'm grumpy for you!!  lol

rues... Did you have the fog that everyone else got, too?  It was foggy here this morning, but I was lucky enough to miss it.  It was clear when I went to work at 6am, then again at 8am when I went to the second office... then the fog set in.

blschue... Funny video!  Have you ever tried Poopourri?  It really works!  lol

Nora... I can only imagine how many get well cards Gramma is going to get now that her address has been publicized!!  lol

Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned here!  Have a good evening!

Holly, Calendars, Emails - UPDATE December 7, 2015

Ted enjoying the sunshine
Ted enjoying the sunshine
A Lily Fan captured 5 minutes and 21 seconds of Holly?s life as she groomed, checked her foot pad, lay back and looked at Lucky and rearranged her bed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c931v0z-czU&feature=youtu.be. Ted enjoyed the 40? F sunshine today in his thick winter coat. For the last 3 months, he has been growing his winter coat of dense, fine under fur, so he probably doesn?t want it a whole lot warmer than today.

The Bear Center staff went a step better than I dared to announce about the calendars on Friday. Starting at 8 AM tomorrow (Tuesday, December 8) the 2016 Calendars will be up on the webstore (the Gift Shop tab on bear.org) and the staff will be fully ready to take orders. 2016 Calendar CoverThe calendar has the best pictures we?ve taken of Ted, Honey, Lucky, and Holly since we opened in 2007. It will be hard to beat in coming years (but we?ll try). The staff set up good-looking tables full of new gift store (webstore) items to show during Live at the NABC on Wednesday at 1 PM bear time.

I?m back in business on the computer. The last email I got before 4:31 PM today (Monday) was at 6:55 AM this past Friday. I discovered how dependent I am on email to get things done. I am told by our webmaster/technician that all the emails that were sent during that Friday to Monday period were automatically returned to the senders. He said I won?t see them unless people resend them. The problem was that an error in the email setup years ago finally caught up to us. Instead of emails automatically deleting from the server when I received them, they kept building up to the 30 GB limit. I understand we deleted many Gigabytes of emails today to make room for new ones. The non-deleting problem has been fixed, so this should never happen again.

Thank you for all you do.

I had an email saying the computer has shipped and a UPS trscking number but the number is not in the UPS system yet.  Things are looking up.

Not much rain expected today, maybe some sun.  Record breaking rains here in south Florida.  I am running late and feeling energyless but I am not grumpy. Glad Pres. Carter is currently cancer free pef his MRI.  He is 91 and holding up well.

Good thoughts to all for warm, fogless, pleasant days.

Have NO idea what I did with the post I was typing.  >:(

I'm glad your TV is working, JP, and I'll keep my fingers on your computer arriving, at least a tracking number gives you an idea if it's shipped, sitting somewhere, or  ???  Merry Christmas!

That's nice when a person just wants a small service at the funeral home or just the visitation.  To go the "whole route" gets exhausting for the family when they'd just like to quietly mourn in their own way.  I'll bet the lights looked wonderful and can see why you'd get a tear in your eye Cal.

Ted sure has a nice spot for sunning  :)

Hope you're feeling better D.  It sounds like a busy month with the kids coming, but I'm sure it will be fun when they get there.  Bei Bei getting dragged around by his mom was cute.  The way she picks him up you'd think he was a stuffed toy.  Do you volunteer with the German Shepherd rescue?  I'd love to do something like that sometime.  Those sure are cute pups.

Hey, Jewelies! Cold and a little cloudy here, but it's bearable as long as you dress for it.  I just spent an exciting time at a couple of consignment shops 30 min. from me, finding some beautiful name-brand sweaters, and the highest priced one was only $9. Some I bought were either $6 or $7.  I've been so discouraged about the lack of clothing appropriate for me in the reg. stores, and now I have some beautiful things CHEAP!!!!!  Hooray!!!   Going for a walk, bbl

Hi Jewelies!  :)

Saw this pic on my Facebook feed and it reminded me of a Jewelie! I wonder who?  ;D

And this is about me!

Obsver There are some secondhand stores around here but I just never seem to get to them. There are a couple of consignment stores too. One is really pricey. Someone told me they bought an $800 outfit for only $100. Well, whoopee! Too rich for my pocketbook. Besides, when would I wear it? On the nights I go to the club to dance to hip hop music?  :o

Nora Yes, I volunteer for Missouri German Shepherd Rescue. I do background checks, vet interviews, reference interviews and interviews with the people wanting to adopt. It's great that I can do it all at home on the phone and computer.

JP So glad your TV is working! I bought a tablet on sale last week. It's an Amazon Fire 7". It only has 8 gb, but it has Wi-fi. I also got a 32 gb memory card. The whole cost was $64.00. I will only be using it for games & email and stuff I use my phone for now. But the screen is bigger than my phone so that is good. My shipping date is end of December!

Rues Did you get lost in the fog? Do you have all your Christmas stuff up? I don't. I'm just too lazy this year. I was going to do it today, but it's all cloudy and chilly out and I went to the doctor this morning and now I just want to take a nap. I promise I will try to get most of it done this evening. We'll see.

Ra I need to get something for Christmas for my cleaning person. She is so nice and she's been coming to my house for about 3 or 4 years now. I'm thinking about some earrings. She wears a different pair every time I see her.

This little squirrel (or is it a chipmunk?) was in the Berry College eagle nest the other night. When the eagles are away the rodents will play!  ;)

I forgot, my son sent this from San Diego when they were there for Thanksgiving. I liked this pic a lot.

I'm too sleepy to type any more so will go do the dishes to wake up. Hi to Cal, Willi, Blschue, Pat, Deb, Chippy, Neva and everyone who visits here. Have a great evening!  :)

Hi Jewelies! Yep, it's been very foggy here every morning! Doesn't burn off till after nine thirty! Not complaining because we are having very nice weather the rest of the day. 70 expected Friday, Sat and Sunday! Think I may like this El Ni?o winter!

Cal, congrats to Sydney and her team! What an honor! She has a long cheering life ahead of her! How nice that you and Babe had a good night's sleep! Hope you have many more! I know how sad it was for you to see Corey's lights on. Maybe the lights can bring a little joy to everyone grieving his loss knowing that he put them up.  I ought to give that cat shame to our vet! She thinks Wilson is aggressive!  :D Speaking of Wilson...he and Tela are staying overnight with us! Robin is at a week long continuing education class on mitigation at a state park 30 miles from here. The classes will be running past 9 pm tonight and Thursday so she is staying at the park lodge both nights. The other days she can be home by six. The road to the park is windy, hilly, dark and isolated with lots of deer! Glad she is staying overnight because I would have been a nervous wreck! Glad, too, to have my "grand's" with me! :D

Jp, hope your computer is near by! Glad you have some tv!

Ra, I bought Robin some Poopourri a couple years ago. Got it from QVC! She carries the travel bottle in her purse! I forgot to ask her if it was in the purse that the car burglar took! You got some yummies from your customers! Chocolate covered chips, mmmm!  Wilson and Tela so far haven't paid any attention to my tree. I put it up last Friday. Stella usually lays under it but so far I haven't seen her near it! I'd love to go to some school Christmas concerts!

Dlong, love the pics! Especially the one with Bei Bei being carried by his mom upside down! The Shepard pups are so cute! Molly is coming tomorrow! Is the tree decorated now? If not, maybe Molly can help! Enjoy your kids visit!  Just read your last post...wonder which Jewelie you are talking about? ::) I'm finished with my decorations! I scaled back this year. Maybe I'm a little lazy, too! :D

Nora, thanks for Gramma's address. I'm going to send her a card!

Blschue, love the Santa video!

Obsver, don't you just love a bargain! I love to find good stuff cheap! I know what you mean about finding age appropriate clothing! I finally found regular waisted jeans, not the kind that sit below the belly button, at Rural King, that new farm store here in town. They are heavy duty jeans and only cost $9! I bought 3 pair! :D

Gotta go check Robin's house to see if UPS left a package. Bbl!

Ra, thankfully, Benjiman is not too hard to put in the carrier, but it does take two of us to do it.  Sometimes, putting the carrier up on it's end and lowering them into it works, sometimes not.  Rues, I have the best luck with Lees relaxed fit jeans.   Can't beat the price of your $9 ones, but I always wait until they are on sale.    Goodnight all you Jewelies!   Ra, are you using your heated mattress pad yet?
