This photo was taken after crews had cleared an avalanche near the mouth of the mount Mcdonald tunnel in the rogers pass in British Columbia Canada. I was hauling through there regularly at the time

6:36  Nice day today probably.  Not been out at all.  Just on the couch with the Sunday paper and PBS and FOOTBALL.  Finally got to do the puzzle.  Thanks Cal.
Yesterday was just great. Went with Deb, John, Brian Marcie, Odin, and even Brian's ex.  We all sat in the shade of a big maple tree, and watched as Nick's team won the game 8 to 4. Nick was up three times and got on base twice.  He played left field, and did a good job backing up the third baseman.  On one long single to left he fielded the ball and through a strike all the way to home plate.  The catcher did not even have to move.  He just stuck up his glove and caught it.
After the game Nick and Odin went with their mom.  The rest of us went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner on me,  It was like old times before covid, except for the phony prices hikes that have taken over this country because of politics.  It cost me $210 for the five of us.
It was worth it for me.  I loved being with my family at a ball game and in a nice restaurant.
Well now I will go back to the TV for lots more football.  Too bad browns lost,  But I have high hopes for the Chiefs tonight. GO CHIEFS!!!!

7:17 I am glad Chiefs won.  I fell asleep for the end.  Then was up until 2:30 or 3 am.  Had to rush out to Walmart at about 8 pm.  I needed cereal for breakfast, and Walmart is the only place I have found it.  I always have Honey Nut Scooters for breakfast.  I like to buy the big bags Walmart sells.  A bag lasts at least a month, and maybe two.
Very nice this morning. It's 67 and cloud covered, but a gentle rain all night has stopped for now.  Landscapers are grading a new yard out back of me on the next street.  They have built a ground level  patio with some steps off the existing raised enclosed porch.  Which, oddly, did not provide access to the back yard.  Weird.  Was the very last house to be permanently occupied, and changed hands before it was even completed.  I should have poked my nose into what was going on.  I will someday ask the history from a neighbor over there.
My favorite example of gouging is Campbells Chicken Noodle soup.  They were profiting at $.75 a can for quite a while.  Then went to $2,00 or even more for a while.  Then for about a year you could find it on sale for $1.00 a can.
Now it seems to have been decided to keep it at $1.25.  That is still too high.  $1.00 is a 33 1/3% raise.  Inflation is 2%, and even at it's worst was 7 or 8 %.  That means that Campbells Soup Company is gouging us at a rate of between +67% and +167%.  They aught to be  ashamed of themselves.
The saddest part is that this is just one example of the thousands of gouging price increases being forced on us by CEOs just to make Biden and Harris look bad in our eyes. It is true that they are making obscene excess profits, but that is really secondary to their real motive. Don't be fooled.  Leave the high priced stuff on the shelf.  The price will come down when the demand which we control, is gone.
Well now I will put away my soapbox, and enjoy the misty rain that has restarted.  It has chased away the constant drone of the landscapers Bobcat grader.  How nice and peaceful it is.  I love a rainy day. Plus the seven day outlook is rainy too.

5:40 Rainy and cool.  I love it.
Yes Cal thanks for the the Brown's OL add.  No one has showed up yet, but we have hope.  Maybe if Watson donated some of his salary to buy some linemen we could do better.  If he just gave what he spends on lawyers we would do better.
Yay!  Chefs did it again.  LOL
Bye now gotta get ready for rehab that I missed yesterday.

5:11 I think.  Yikes Cal.  Do you mean to tell me that if chiefs took our guy and not your guy we could have had Patrick?  Wow!!!!   Andy is a genius.  Our pickers are broken.  We have had so many quarterbacks it makes my head swim trying to remember the good ones.  We did have a few great game last year when Watson was hurt, but I don't know what became of the quarterback who did so good.  He just faded away.
Rehab was good. This dedicated little trainer girl who weighed all of about 70 or 80 lbs. showed me lots of ways to work out this 240 lb. body to strengthen my back.  I mostly remember her admonitions about posture.  There were many offered.  I know she was effective, because I have a lot of sore muscles that were ok yesterday morning.
Karen did experiment again for dinner and asked me over.  Dinner was very healthy.  You would have loved it I think.  Not even one sniff of meat or bread all night.  I think there may have been some kind of cheese in the butternut squash casserole.  It was filling. While I was with her we had a one hour Tornado Warning for our area.  It was scary, but missed us.  Thank God.
Our families were ok too.
Well I will say CUL now.  GBU, israel,Ukraine, and those suffering today.

6:13 oh well. nice cloudy day.  72 degrees and not much wind right now.  Need to go out this afternoon for a walk or something just because it is so nice.  Already got mail and prescription from Drugmart.  I will say so long for a while. I am really missing all our babies of summer.  I hope they are doing well for the winter.
