Good morning. I see our TV babies now.  They are sooo big. Strong wings make the feathers and straw fly around the loft with every flap.
Sunrise over the Mississippi on GSB cam is spectacular!
Did not see Mary yesterday. Maybe late today or tomorrow.  I hope.
Coffee and cereal on board already, but puzzle waiting. So I will say so long for a while.

6:22 finally. Tortoise shell is One of Debbie's faves.  Thanks Cal.
Gonna go now.  Don't know what is next over here.  Maybe a longer bike ride, because it is very cool and nice outside.  Only 65 degrees and dry. Little wind.  Makes for a nice ride.

Tortoiseshell ...  38:35      92°  (4:12 pm)   Thunder close by, dark clouds ... can smell rain in the desert (wet Creosote).🌵⛈️

I hope all is well with you and your day has been a good one.

Cal    How neat, you actually got to interact with Clydesdales.   My daughter, some years ago, gave her husband a Harley-Davidson motorcycle for his birthday, so though neither could be called "bikers", they thought a trip to Sturgis would be in order .  The same for my brother,  He loves his Harleys and has four or five of them.  I know he's been to Sturgis once, don't know if he's been there more than that.
I would like to see that Crazy Horse monument too.

Good morning Cal.  Sure hope your tooth is better soon.
Had trouble getting in touch with Mary last night.  Messenger and texting both let me down.  It was late, almost 9 o'clock and I was trying to coordinate dinner for us both.  Wound up cooking and eating by myself, because I did not get a timely response from Mary. I became worried she had fallen and could not get up, or something.  So I guessed what was going on , and went to see her.  I am glad I did.  She was fine.  Just out of touch for a few minutes while she went out at 9 o'clock to get a toy for her newest puppy, Maggie.
I did finally see her, and it felt great to be with her .  As usual. Showed her how I cook corn in a potato bag in the microwave. It came out good.  It had a large patch of white kernels which Mary felt looked uncooked.  I ate that for her.  It was fine.
She hardly eats sometimes.  This was one of those times.  She had a little saucer of reheated veggies and only ate about half of that.  We cooked one ear of corn, and she ate only about half of that too. We talked politics and religion for a couple hours.  I was tired and left for home about 11 o'clock.  Early for me. LOL  She did give me a very pleasant send off.  So I was glad I took the effort to go over and see her at 9:30 at night.  Usually I would consider this too late to initiate a visit, but i was worried she fell down her steep stairs or something.  It was just my imagination run wild.  Thank God.
Now my eyes are burning from being still sleepy.  So I will go back and try to sleep a little more.  CUL ALLIGATORS

6:22 on the "farts damper" sign. LOL Thanks Cal
Yes Cal, I have put 45000 miles on my 1980 650 special, but none lately.  It is still in the shop with no brakes.  I took it to the wrong shop three years ago and it is still there.  I don't know how to get it back.  I gave them a lot of money every time the mechanic called me.  Still no bike for me.  I tried to get an old friend who is familiar with this model to deliver a battery and get involved with the repair shop, but I have not heard from for months.  I guess I better get on the phone again.
Too late now to go back to bed, but cereal and coffee is calling me. I think I hear some noise from the baby TV, but have not seen any movement.

Speed Bump ...  18:56    104°  (3:25 pm)    Sunny w/ big puffy clouds to the east, and it's windy - 5% chance of rain.  🙁

I hope all is well with you.

Hi Cal       My mother's dad was a farmer (Maine) for most of his life, and he had a team of Percherons and a team of Shires, and he really loved his horses.   He even braided their manes and tails.  I like the big draft horses.  Grandpa loved big dogs too.  He also bought my grandmother a Morgan horse to pull her carriage.  She didn't like men - the horse - and didn't want Grandpa to get in the carriage with Grandma, and would try to kick the carriage.  Weird story, I know ...  lol!

Hi Joho      Well, if worse comes to worse, write a letter to your State Attorney General's office, explaining your problem with getting your bike back, and you should get some quick results.  I had to do that once with a realtor that we were going to rent a place from and then she started pulling some stuff.  We got our problem with her sorted out plus an apology in very short order.
My Dad was the one that suggested I do that.  There is also the Better Business Bureau.

Great Group, Great Bears, Great Times - UPDATE August 9, 2023

Snowball
Everyone is having a great time, thanks to the bears, the weather, and more.Andrea
Andrea

A highlight this morning was a call that 3-year-old Andrea had again appeared with her three cubs. Amidst the excitement, she was good to pose for an ID picture that shows the light fur patches on her forehead. That was great because group member Catherine Davison had just gotten a picture of her daughter Snowball who has a similar face but more extreme with the light fur of her face extending far up her forehead with dark fur around her eyes. Being a female, Snowball is likely to stay in this area as part of Shadow’s Clan for her entire life and will be among the easiest bears to recognize at a glance.

But then there was the highlight with the eagles yesterday. We pontooned to within viewing distance of the bald eagle nest to learn the latest. To our big surprise both eaglets were there. We had feared the worst for one of them earlier. Then, neither one was seen a week ago. This time one was in the nest and the other was barely visible hidden in a cedar tree on shore beneath the big white pine that holds the huge nest. It calmly watched as we drifted to a spot that gave a partial view of him or her. All was well. The parents were still tending to them. One of them flew by for a picture by Catherine Davison that put a cap on the good experience.

Catherine also got a nice look at the gentle face of 5-year-old Andrew, son of Vanna. She also caught an unusually colorful sunset over Shagawa Lake, colored by a forest just 15 miles away. Lorie Kennedy caught a placid moment when first-timers Susanne Derby and Abby Edwards canoed up to the beaver lodge to look and listen.

Overall, it was a joy to be among excited participants and hearing happy voices as they met bears, had herring gulls catch tossed bologna, and saw other wildlife. A highlight for one was having an ovenbird that had hit a window recover in her hand and fly away okay.

The class ends tomorrow at noon with the unexpected experience of everyone being filmed for an upcoming TV program. Lots happening.

Thank you to all for all you do.

hi neva how cool your granddad had perches. and i totally get the morgan not wanting your grandpa getting in carriage with grandma i got indy remember no to you jim here i come mom!! i like the morgan breed too.  big necks. makes me happy your grandpa loved his horses so much and his dogs if you dont love them do not get them.

hi joho i would go in there have some means of getting it moved and tell them i am taking my bike and i hope i do not have to call the police to get it but i will. jim would get it back for you if he was there. or do like neva said but do something do not let them steal your bike sounds like they have no intention of giving it back. no more money to them till you have your bike back i hope you got receipts for other monies you gave them. even if you never ride it again it is yours. i did not see tvs babies this morning i do not have my sound up so cant hear them.

8min. 33 seconds.  Hard one, but nice to see when finally done.
Had a hard day with Mary yesterday.  Her little dog Molly needed a lot of medical attention.  I was glad I could help out some, but Mary had a handle on the dogs needs.  She was a wizard at getting things done.
Have not heard much today.  I think she is probably busy trying to plan for what comes next.  It is complicated and expensive.  I offered to help all I could, but it is not likely I will be needed at all. I have said I would take care of Brian's two boys next week while Debbie goes away on her much needed vacation to the East Coast shore with Patty.  Whom I love for what she means to Debbie.
I am dozing at the keyboard again.  So CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine

hi you guys its 71 rain for later today 66 rain in ice 71 and rain in kviv 74 in the barn

hi joho its expensive for pet care but they should have it. i went to see dr platte my dds. he took that loose implant with my tooth and just slightly pulled it came right out. he said look how clean the implant is it was an implant failure. he showed it too other doctor there. he said best and fast i get a bridge there. said other doctor would start on it next tuesday. so when i got home i had been thinking i dont want a bridge want another implant.  i want to see my implant surgeon i saw before dr foster. i told jim and he said that is what he would do too.. i called dr foster office said i would like for him to look at this and she made an appt for me for yesterday at one she said i need to call platte office get them to email my tooth stuff i called and that jessica just a front desk person gave me a hard time said we dont do that no referals anymore either cause they do implants now but only for last 6 months i told her no i want to see dr foster oral surgeon spec is implants and jaw injuries i had an injury here. jim was mad cause they have to give you your stuff. anyway she finally said you have to sign for it then i will send it it was almost 5pm then so i said we will be there first thing in the morning drive all the way to the city.  i hardly slept all night worrying. it was a huge storm we drove in but when we got there dr platte was like waiting for us he was so nice said he will fill out that referral right now and he did said yes i can get another implant have to have more bone graft put in there wait 3 months then do the implant wait 3 months get my tooth again. he said he wanted me to see dr foster cause it was a serious injury and have the best care he said dr foster will send him a letter after he sees me. he looked at jessica and said to me if you have any problems ever you call ME we think he had a talk with jessica. when i google his office many people hate his office staff. so then we drove on up to fosters and now my new appt not till sept 12th so will see what happens then. at least i can eat now that implant not hanging way down and out. i fell hard i know.  i hope i can get another implant if not a bridge and platte said if it comes to that he will be doing it every step of the way but thinks i can get an implant again. yes puzzle was hard but seeing the picture at the end pretty cool

7:52 foreign barn.  Cal your tooth sounds serious to me.  Taking months to heal etc. is scary, and maybe painful too.
Mary is running Molly to Akron Specialist for eyes today.  Will be gone all day and  as much as three days.
I took Debbie and Patty to the airport at 7 this morning.
Then I drove to Berea from the airport to get Spudnut donuts for Mary to take on her trip.  Just made it back to Mary's house in time to send her off with the donuts. I know she likes them, because the first time we rode around together we stopped there and she got a box full.  She looked spectacular, and I told her so.  I am praying for Molly to be OK.
Now I am just chilling here at home on my computer with you all.
Got to go.  Someone is coming to my house.  They just called to let me know.
