Yikes Neva!  Good no one was hurt.  That is a big one!  You supplied the excitement this morning.
What are you doin up so early? That's Cal's job I thought. LOL
I been goofing off trying to schedule a voting trip with my daughter Debbie.  We have to coordinate 8 people, the board of elections and my favorite restaurant.  We have been trying for two weeks and I think finally if Mary shows up a few minutes earlier than usual to get Bash it will happen tonight before 5pm.  Dinner will be shortly after at George's in Sheffield Village, Ohio.  It is nostalgic for us both.
Sadly, Mary is not on the agenda.  I wish she were.
I did not do the puzzle yet.  I will do it soon and then have some lunch.

7:29 Glasses not working well.  Now time for some Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup and a sandwich. I do have a few exploding cherry tomatoes from my one plant.  They are cracking open with too much water.  Not quite ripe enough yet. So flavor is low.  They are on the table though and will not go to waste.  I will eat them with relish. LOL
Bye now EV i GBU and GB Ukraine

6:35 Did see Mary briefly on my way to take Debbie to vote. It was a very nice visit on her veranda.  Where I got to meet her good friend who bought Maggie's litter mate.  They are a family now.  Heart warming friendly group.  Molly, the smallest one, is the leader of the dog pack.  Mary is the Alpha though of the people pack.  LOL
Well, no plans for today.  Two major problems.  One wet basement and one leaking very hard to work on built in washer.  I can't really do much good with either except look and talk.  Both are very bad and very hard to solve problems.  I am frustrated. I offered my washer for emergency use at any time.
I think now I will go make a second coffee. It has rained and is still wet outside.  Have not heard from Mary since yesterday at about 11 in the morning.  Hope she is OK.
Did not see any bears yesterday or vultures either.  I will look in on them now.  CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine.

Did hear from Mary.  She is busy so she is happy.  Might see her later.  Don't know yet.  I hope so.   The broken washer lady came over and used my washer today.  She will probably be back in a few days, because hers will be very difficult and expensive to fix or replace.  She is nice and I am glad to help her.
I did see our dear little TV.  They will walk out that door very soon and not likely return.
They are sooo big.  The last of our summer babies.
Well I will leave you now.  I need a nap. LOL

Yellow stools ...  28:53    102°  (1:13 pm)   Bright and sunny, some clouds and not windy yet.

I hope you are all doing well today.

Hi Cal    I really love your name for your dogs - 'Kitchen Coyotes' - that is quite a visual in my mind.

Hi Joho    I just recently had a washing machine (& a hot water heater) replaced.  It was expensive with each of them.  It is good of you to help your neighbor.

Well, my granddaughter and her significant other went for a relaxing weekend in the Phoenix area.  They went out to a lovely place in the desert* that they both love, and he proposed to her.  They haven't set a date yet, but I imagine they won't wait long.  They seem very good together.  I have hope with and in them.

** in the morning it is cool enough

What A nice message Neva! God Bless Them. Thanks for sharing.
Billie and I will see the broken washer lady on Thursday evening.  He will do what he can to help her out.  She is quick to resolve things.  So the wait for low my help is frustrating her.  I am sure the wait will be worth it though, and she will benefit and be glad.
I like the moniker of " kitchen Coyotes" too.  Cal is our poet.

5:57 Thanks Cal,
Did not see Mary yesterday.  We both wanted to go deer spotting in the evening, but she got roped in by a long needy call. So I took the evening to try to help get the washer woman's washer fixed ASAP. So all we did was trade posts near bedtime. Was frustrating for me. For her too I suspect.  We did at least schedule an outing to a movie starring her favorite dog breed in the lead character. Billie suggested it to me.  Mary knows of it.  She said it is vulgar, but how vulgar can a movie be if it stars a Boston Terrier cute as they are?  We will ignore the bad parts as we do the scary parts, gruesome parts, and vulgar parts in other movies.  It is the message that counts anyway. Good over evil for example.  Or love will endure. Etc.
I feel pretty bad for Cali.  It is hell to get old and weak after years of being the Alpha.  I know!

Bears, Birds, and Good Times - UPDATE August 2, 2023

Guy
Good weather, good people, and wildlife make a good combination—especially if it includes bears. Females are showing up. We’re getting calls to ‘come see.’ Some of the calls were about Lily, but she never waited long enough.

One of the highlights was good Guy in his mid-twenties. He calmly knows what is going on. Several participants said he alone was worth the whole trip. But then there was Andrea with her cubs. Guy was nice to let us get pictures of him in the sun with one of them giving our best view ever of his wide, dark cementum-enamel margin at the base of his canine tooth—an indicator of his old age. Now in his mid-twenties, he has spent his calm life among hunters and residents without being shot or causing any problem. It is always good to see him.Andrea and cubs

Three-year old Andrea (daughter of Jewel) gave us our best view of her cubs so far, letting us get a picture from a distance. She and her cubs are shy. The picture shows the female cub named Snowball standing up letting us see her light face with lightness that extends up onto her forehead. Her brother Cupcake showed his brown fur, and her other brother Twinkie showed his black fur. Only Snowball has a chest blaze.

Out the window, a great blue heron lighted on the tippy top of a balsam fir tree, showing its wings when it landed and then showing its face when it turned its head to catch the sun—views we hardly see out the window.

The pontoon ride yesterday was placid. As we floated closer to a sleeping mallard, it opened an eye but didn’t move. Another mallard with a late brood of two ducklings swam unusually close to get their picture taken, too.

Fun times.

6:28 Debbie and her best friend Luann would like to be on that beach.  They are real sand fans.
Debbie especially.  If she is not sandy she is not on vacation yet.
Did not see Mary yesterday again.  She was out of town at a vet specialist for little Molly with glaucoma.  I will see her today though.  We are going to the Medina County Fair at 11.  I am a fair fan.  I will go every day.  Mary not so much.  One day is enough for her.  She does like some fair food I hear.  I will make sure she gets what she likes.  As I understand it she like good French fries and Italian sausage sandwich without the sausage.  She likes the taste, but not the texture of most meats. I will help out by eating the sausage for her.
I am anxious to go with her.
I think the damage in Moscow is not enough to encourage Russia to leave Ukraine alone.  It may be causing more sympathy for Putin's war than anything.
Bye now, second coffee waiting.  CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine

Watch: Huge blast as drone explodes in Moscow
By James Waterhouse, Ukraine Correspondent, & James Gregory
BBC News
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned war is coming back to Russia after a drone attack on the capital Moscow.
Mr Zelensky said attacks on Russian territory were an "inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process" of the war between the two countries.
Russia's defence ministry said three Ukrainian drones were downed on Sunday, with two crashing into offices.
Vnukovo Airport, southwest of the city centre, was also briefly shut.
The drone attack in the early hours of Sunday is the latest that Moscow has blamed on Kyiv.
And in a video address on Sunday from the western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk, Mr Zelensky said that Ukraine was getting stronger.
"Today is the 522nd day of the so-called 'Special Military Operation', which the Russian leadership thought would last a couple of weeks," he said.
"Gradually, the war is returning to the territory of Russia - to its symbolic centres and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process."
This characterisation is certainly a level up from Kyiv's normal approach of not admitting responsibility for attacks inside Russia.
It may be far from a confession, but President Zelensky clearly feels confident enough to pile on the pressure, and not just on the Kremlin.
Drone attacks like these are also an opportunity for him to address the Russian population, the majority of whom appear to believe Moscow's invasion is just and righteous.
If they connect explosions close to home with what's going on in Ukraine, as per Mr Zelensky's suggestion, it makes it that bit harder for Vladimir Putin to justify his invasion, which he is only looking to expand.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Sunday that Moscow would have to use a nuclear weapon if Kyiv's ongoing counter-offensive was a success.
