Yes Neva a book is indicated.
Photos and Doc's observations are priceless.
I got a special card today that had a mule and a horse in it.  I enjoyed it a lot.  When I returned to the start I noticed a question, "did I see the mule"?  Of course I saw the mule.  I even know his name. LOL

Winter Walk ... 34:59    56°  (5:23 pm)   getting dark, and heavy clouds.  It was sunny today.

My granddaughter Bella, Tyler and the two dogs went up into the mountains today to play in the snow, and all of them loved it.  We are lucky here, those who want snow can go up there and get it if they want it, and then come back down here and have a comfortable winter.

Alice will be in my prayers.

I found a better assortment of Christmas music from Pandora Radio (on Alexa) than I first had earlier, we're really enjoying it.  Cal, your furry kids in the barn have their own favorite station, they're used to it.

Hi Joho.  I hope your day was good.

7:01 finally.  Was very cold all day.  Just enough snow to make the roads slick.  23 degrees now at 11 pm.  Been seeing a lot of football.  Sorry to hear Cal's Chiefs got beat.  They just did not have enough offense today.
Lord we pray that you will bring comfort to Cousin Alice.  She is a special person with a special sense of humor that we miss, and would like to enjoy further.
Also, we pray you protect all our bear friends and their families at least through the holidays.  It is doubly sad when we suffer loss during this time of celebration.
Good night EV1.  GBU and GB Ukraine

Fisher Fascination and Toe-Tapping Rhythm and Rhyme - UPDATE December 18, 2022

Fisher male
Last evening at 9:38 PM the fisher (male) came for nearly an hour of pawing through snow piles for raw peanuts that the deer missed. "Eyes of the Night" was here to snap the best ID pictures we have of him. Fishers are not seen that often and we feel lucky to have one visiting here.

Fisher male
Fisher male
Tis the season for ‘The Bears’ Christmas with Santa Ducky put together by Team Forward, including Laurie Athmann, Suzie Saliga, and Judy McClure with happy toe-tapping rhythm and words that nicely rhyme and are sung by an entire choir. It’s the kind of unusual talent you don’t expect from people you know who are fun and ordinary most of the time and then come up with this 4-minute light-hearted ditty about the Ambassador Bears. The credits and video mention two individuals we lost this year—Judy McClure and Ted—good memories. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oK3_4qZUnIo.

Thank you for all you do,

5:30  Dog looks a little like Boss.  I will go see him and Deb today.  Bash will be there too. Looks like a real cold winter storm coming for all of us soon.
Furnace was finally fixed this morning.  I got a recall notice last December that some homes were burned down due to furnace failure.  It took a long time to get done, because the first one who came to work on it said it was not possible to repair, because the mechanicals closet door frame was too close to get the furnace apart.  The man that showed up this morning, from 3 hours away, did not even hesitate to take it apart and make the repair.  Took only 30 minutes total.  Glad it is done.
Gonna get started now so CUL EV1 GBU and GB Ukraine

Dog on Sand ... 31:07    64°  (4:16 pm)  Lightly overcast - hazy, and no wind.

That Fisher Cat has a cute face, doesn't it? I wonder if they are related to minks, weasel or that type if animal?  I shall have to look it up.

That made me so sad to read about the little girl in Ukraine who asked her mother if she would be alive next year for her birthday.  It is shocking to hear this from a child's thoughts about what is happening over there.  Those people are forever traumatized. It is heartbreaking.

I am sorry you are having to face such cold temps.  I don't think I could do that anymore.  You asked if that was the first time the dogs had sen snow, Cal.  Zoe is thirteen so she has seen it before, but Harlow has never seen it.  I wish Bella had gotten a sweater for her before they went up there.  Her fur is quite short.

Hi Joho.  I'm glad to hear that you finally did find someone that didn't back off of doing the job to repair your furnace.

Fleeing Deer, and a Fox with a Fetching Face - UPDATE December 20, 2022

Beaver lodge insulated with snow
Deer running
Deer startled
Deer running
and bolts
Red fox
Red fox
The wildlife high for the day started when a deer I was watching suddenly whirled and bolted. Five others did the same. I looked to see what scared them. Saw nothing. Looked out other windows. Nothing. Then below a window, movement—a fox. Was it the shy fox or the trusting, limping fox? It looked up at me with a fetching face, It had to be the one I know. He kept looking. I hurried to get his expected treat. I came back and started cranking open the window that was not part of our usual routines. He moved back. I dropped a piece of bologna, but he didn’t come. When I wasn’t looking, he disappeared. But he had let me know he was okay, and I was glad to see him.

Across the lake, a good layer of insulating snow on the beaver lodge is helping keep the below zero temperatures at bay.

Thank you for all you do,

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United States on Wednesday on his first trip outside of Ukraine since Russia’s invasion of his country in February. Zelensky is scheduled to meet at the White House with President Biden, who is expected to announce a new $1.85 billion security assistance package that will include the Patriot missile system, and later address a joint meeting of Congress.
Zelensky’s appearance before lawmakers comes as they work to pass a $1.7 trillion spending package, which includes $44.9 billion in emergency security and economic assistance for Ukraine.
