hi my friends who i so love lucky to have you guys it is 55 here clear yesterday so much work in the barn when i was done i heard rain on the roof it rained so i put out more pellets did not get in till after 6 jim in the kitchen eating oreo cookies and milk said i thought you was in bed nope heavy work in the barn . so more of that in a bit so no rain for two whole days then four more days of rain  :(

Hi Joho! i always put the kids ahead of me try to anyway. probably why i got such spoiled kids. we told sweets he going to get tutored  but he still did not want to leave his home when he got back home he was so out of it that jim and i took turns laying out there with him laying right next to him that is how out of it he was. vet said he would be but he came out good and thank goodness on jims shift not mine!  :) all this rain making lots of people around here putting up their horses. joe told me he has all 5 of his up. grass growing so fast and so wet cause horses to founder so they need to off the pasture and eating hay. lots of stuff with horses.  i wish i would of seen those bears i only looked at tv cam for a minute then split my cheese pizza with dogs and went to bed. hang on griz. how long was it before you was up and moving on your own after your new knee?

hi neva! i do like biden too i voted for him but sometimes i feel like you will vote next election on who and why and how things were done.  nice to have a president that did not gaffe or a pres that was  a liar be friends with putin. i feel like these weapons will help ukraine think it may be late for them in some places in ukraine but maybe stop putin in other places and stop the killing. all the killing is so awful. germany sending that air defense weapons will stop putins missiles and that will help alot and ukraine does good on the ground. should of had help from the beginning. i sure do agree with you on nato needs to make changes.

The UK will send Ukraine M270 multiple-launch rocket systems
Ukrainian artillerymen will also receive training on how to use the launchers so that their effectiveness can be maximized.
This was announced by British Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace and added that the decision to transfer the M270 was coordinated with the United States, which will transfer the HIMARS systems.

6:37  Thanks for this nice Summer view.
Nice and cool this morning. 64 degrees and it is already 11:24.  Will take a short walk soon.  Decided to ask Doctor for help with cough and fatigue, but of course felt all better when I got up from early nap.  So on here instead.
I was lucky to catch bears on Snowman.  They come and go so fast. There was a short chase I did see one take a peak to see what was on top of the table.  That was the end of the bears when the table rolled over on it's side.  I rotate through glimpses of several animal cams several times each day.  I usually take a peak at the Dublin Cam just to see what kind of weather our Marge is having.  It is a new one and seems to be working fine.
I am starting to get that odd feeling in my head and throat along with a deep cough.  So I guess I am not yet well and better call the doctor.  Feel so unusual for me that I don't know what to ask for.  Maybe cough medicine and antibiotics.  I have a 1 or 2 degree fever.
Well CUL EV1 GBU  and GB Ukraine.

Paddle Board ... 20:15         99°  (2:15 pm)  "Mostly sunny" it says ... funny, I don't see any clouds --  no wind either.   Oh! ... just as I am starting my complaining, I see a bit of a breeze starting up, moving the vines on my neighbors back wall.  Good.

Hi guys ...

First off, Joho, I hope that whatever this is, will pass soon.  Don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor if you need to.  I am a great one for putting things off with the doctor, and find it not such a great idea.

Cal ...I am very glad to have your friendship.  I wish we lived closer ... maybe somewhere between too much rain and not enough rain.  I wonder if there is such a place ... everyone I know is getting too much, except for me.

Pixie, Cubs, a Break-up, and the Bird of the Day - UPDATE June 2, 2022
Bald Eagle
Bald Eagle

Pixie w cubs
Pixie with cubs
Two days ago, I got an urgent call to drive fast to identify a mother with two cubs. The resident had already captured proof of the situation—the picture of the mom at the base of a tree with the two cubs peering around. It was Pixie—the bear who wears her heart on her chest. The mother of Dexter and Dustin we all got to know in 2020 and 2021. I was very glad to see her (the first time this year), and I hope to learn the sexes of her cubs one of these days.

Pixie
Pixie
The bird of the day was a mature bald eagle that landed in a tree across the yard at the WRI. The light was good. I grabbed the camera, focused, and waited a minute or two for action. The eagle flew, saying goodbye with a flap of the wings such that I could see its head and the details of its feathers. Thank you, eagle.

Lucy and her yearlings are still together. Sallyann split from Katie and Kenny on Saturday evening, the 28th some 4 miles away. Each break-up is a little different. Sallyann was playing with her yearlings when a good-sized male appeared. She led her yearlings into the woods, left them there, and went off with the male. She has been with him ever since and has not crossed paths with her yearlings that anyone has seen.

Thank you for all you do,

The White House reportedly still has reservations about the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).  This weapon system can fire a six-pack of rockets, or a single missile, up to 185 miles, and could strike targets beyond its border; however, it’s expected that Ukraine will be provided with the shorter-range rockets, with a range of about 40 miles. Yuri Sack, an adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister, assured the U.S. that it won’t use the new system to strike inside Russia, stating, “Ukraine has no intention to use them other than for defense of our territories and for the de-occupation of our territories.”
Russia doesn’t want a level playing field, and HIMARS would do just that. Russian artillery is literally killing Ukraine; look no further than the devastation it has done to Kyiv, Mariupol, Kharkiv and now Severodonetsk. These aren’t military targets; they are homes, schools, hospitals, power plants and places of worship. After nearly 100 days of Russian troops’ complete disregard for humanity, huge losses and tactical failures, Moscow continues to stumble forward — now in the eastern Donbas region and the south. Moscow’s long-range artillery, largely unchecked, is making that advance possible.
Russia’s ground forces cannot compete against Ukraine without their artillery dominance. Ukraine is winning the close fight — its Defense Ministry reports as many as 30,700 Russian soldiers have been killed in action and that Russia has lost 1,361 tanks, 3,343 armored personnel carriers, 659 artillery pieces, 207 Multiple Rocket Launchers, 208 aircraft and 175 helicopters. To date, though, Ukraine’s fighters have no solution to counter the cross-border artillery strikes. As a result, they are slowly losing terrain — and experienced combat veterans. Officials in eastern Ukraine report the Russian shelling of Severodonetsk has been so intense that it has not been possible to assess casualties and damage. Ukrainians are putting up a valiant effort, but they can’t win if they can’t target the artillery systems that are killing them — Mariupol proved that.
For Ukraine to survive, there can be no sanctuary afforded to Russian artillery. If Russia is firing into Ukraine, it must be subject to counter-fires, regardless of its location. And yes, that means Russia and Belarus. NATO and the U.S. are fully committed and should be beyond concern about escalation. It is time for Brussels and Washington to notify Moscow that any weapon system that fires into Ukraine, regardless of its location, will be subject to immediate counter-fires by all means available to Ukraine. HIMARS would provide that capability. Denying Ukraine the ability to conduct counter-fires — a defensive action — is unconscionable.
Putin sets the stage for NATO’s second act
In baby formula shortage, poor quality control is to blame
The West cannot expect Ukraine to continue to absorb casualties and the destruction of infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelensky has acknowledged that 50-100 soldiers are being killed daily, defending Ukraine’s eastern regions. In mid-April, Zelensky said that 2,500-3,000 Ukrainian troops had been killed, and up to 10,000 had been injured. Russian artillery is the principal instrument of their deaths. HIMARS would provide a fairer fight, in the same way that the Javelin and Switchback drones have countered Russian armor.
President Biden cannot repeat President Lyndon Johnson’s mistake during the Vietnam War — watching the North Vietnamese march soldiers and equipment down the Ho Chi Min trail in Laos and Cambodia and doing nothing about it until they entered South Vietnam. Providing HIMARS to Ukraine is the right decision, but telling Zelensky their use is restricted to “key targets on the battlefield in Ukraine” keeps his soldiers and civilians in the kill zone with no means to retaliate. The option to conduct counter-fires cannot be restricted.

Hi ev1,  Called the doctor late today.  Seems he called in a prescription yesterday, and left me a voice mail.  Which I never get, but good I called because I wanted his high test cough pills.  So soon as I got home with my antibiotics they called to say they had now called in the cough pills and a Zpack.  I had to tell her I already got the Zpack, but thanks for the cough pills.  Now I will wait for Drugmart to fill it and let me know.
Saw all our babies today.  The TV are now winning the cuteness contest.  Their mom is the best.  The bugs are getting bad in the bird nesting spots.  Saw a lot of our bears today too.  Lucky is in viewing area and Ted just finished up his snacks.  Snowman cam bears seem to be coming around more than in the past.
Uh Oh getting sleepy again so will say so long for a while.  GBU and GB Ukraine

Kayak Beach ...  20:19       100°  (3:10 pm)  Bright sun, no clouds, and quite breezy.   I'm enjoying my wind chimes out back.

Hi you two, and anyone else hanging out here.  I hope that your day has been a good one.

I'm glad to hear that you are getting some help, Joho.  Get all the rest that you need.

I just love that bear that you posted the photo of, Cal.  Pixie.  Imagine, a heart on her chest.   I think Dr. Rodgers is such an outstanding photographer.  Someone should help him put together a book of his photos.  A large 'coffee table' book.  I know it would sell, and be appreciated and the proceeds could go to his work if he wanted.

The trouble with Putin is ... how do we put him out of business ... really out of business.  He has himself well protected, even most Russians couldn't lay a hand on him.  And then there are so many rules about war, and who can belong to what club, NATO or EU, etc.  How long does it take to join the club?  And then, what happens if that freak decides to go Nuclear?    The Russians love Chess, and this is like a Checkmate in the making.  I bet he has a food taster.
