Good, so good, to see Doc reporting again.
Looks like battle with DNR is really tough.  Doc still fighting the old fight in his head.  Trying to determine, or guess, why everyone can't see the benefit to the bears his study can produce.  So frustrating for him where his numerous past successes taunt him.
His 'trust' approach is so novel, and contrary to historical belief, the courts just cannot conceive it to be true.  Too bad.  So sad to be a true pioneer in science.  Really sad.  It is a wonder humans make any progress at all.
Pretty tough day for Boo and his mom and dad sounds like.  Chemo is something I don't understand well.  Sounds like it could extend his pain free life by periodically making him stressed and nauseous.  Not known yet for how long he will be nauseous.
All I can offer is to pray for him to be comfortable and to enjoy his meals again.  I also pray that you and Jim do well.
God Bless
I have a 2:10 appointment at University Hospital for a first covid shot.  Will let you know how it goes later.

Hi ev1,
I went to Shaker Heights University Hospital Management office.  It was set up very nice.  I got there early and was taken right in  through the sign up and the shot in a very few minutes.  Shot in the shoulder burned a little.  Then they gave me a little 15 minute timer, and showed me to a large room with  lots of clean chairs spaced apart.  After the timer beeped I just got up and walked out to my car it was I think about 5 after 2. The whole thing took about 10 minutes. There were lots of people, but also lots of space.  Then I was feeling very upbeat.  So I took the scenic route back home through a lot of what we call The Emerald Necklace.  The Metropark that encircles greater Cleveland.
It was exquisite with clean fresh snow and no wind.  It took me 34 minutes to get there, but it took 4 and a 1/2 hours to get home.  I stopped a lot. One stop was at Drugmart to tell my friend to take me off the list.  She said she was just getting ready to call me.
Debbie and Mary were very happy for me.  Especially Mary because she works for University Hospitals and put me on their list as soon as she could.  I am happy too.  I feel hopeful again that I will be able to see the bears next summer.
God Bless all those in need

Cal, glad that Booboo's appt ended well! Sometimes vets think they know more about our pets than we do! But we know better! I didn't think about chemo being in the poop but now I can see how that would be. That boy sure has a good appetite! I watched the inauguration all day long. Robin took a half day off so she could watch it. We texted back and forth through the entire event. Lady Gaga was amazing! Found out later when our Senator Joe Manchin  posted a selfie with her that she was born in Wheeling, WV! Her mom was a WVU cheerleader! Didn't know that. I thought Bernie Sanders was a hoot in his mittens. The poet laureate Amanda Gorman was so good.  All in all, yesterday was breath of fresh air for me. :)

Jo, great news about you getting the vaccine! We are on the wait list along with 5000 plus others in the county! They had 500 doses today. They don't know when the next clinic will be. May be awhile before they get to us. Your long drive sounded so relaxing!

Good to see Dr Rogers posting! Not so sure I want bears with collars but the den cams are ok!

Have a nice evening! Take care and stay safe!  :)

Thanks for the report on the inauguration.  I missed it all, but I got vaccinated.  I did see just a few minutes of Garth Brooks running offstage and down some hall or something.
That is good news to hear about stars coming from our neighborhoods.  Always a nice surprise.

hi ev1,

Found out 21 and 28 day interval for covid shots are minimums.  Both can be up to 42 days and maybe more if needed.  Just be sure to get a second dose.  FYI
Check it out with your doctor to confirm.  I was freaking out all morning, because they gave me a Pfizer shot and a 28 day follow-up appointment.  This was contrary to all I had heard.  So I tried to get it rescheduled for 7 days sooner, and could not get done.  I was able to move it up one day.  So I was still freaking out.  Ruined my whole Friday morning.
Now I am OK, and going to lunch CUL God Bless

I went to the kitchen.  LOL  Had a bowl of Cagnino with noodles a friend gave me, two baloney and cheese sandwiches on white with Hellman's and mustard, some classic chips, a little large curd cottage cheese, and two cups of Lipton tea with one spoon of sugar.  Then took a little nap.
Did ya'll get my email?  I got one rejection note, but a second one said they went.  I felt like I could save others the agony of thinking 21 days was crucial to efficacy when it is not at all.  It is simply the days used during the testing, and therefore is a minimum only.  GTG Errands God Bless

But what the heck was she wearing?????
